Mulholland Contracts Ltd are looking for an experienced Mobile Small Plant Fitter to support our growing operations across the Central Belt and beyond.

You’ll be working independently from a fully equipped service van, carrying out diagnostics, servicing, repairs, and breakdowns both on-site and at our West Calder workshop.

🔧 What You’ll Work On

• Dumpers & Rollers
• Wacker Plates & Rammers
• Petrol & Diesel Small Plant
• Engines: Honda, Yanmar, Kubota, Hatz, Stihl

⚙️ Key Responsibilities

• Diagnose & repair mechanical faults
• Routine servicing & inspections
• Attend on-site breakdowns
• Complete job reports accurately
• Maintain a clean, professional service van
• Liaise with workshop & site teams

✅ What We’re Looking For

• Proven experience as a Plant Fitter / Plant Mechanic
• Strong mechanical & fault-finding skills
• Solid knowledge of petrol & diesel engines
• Full UK driving licence (essential)
• Reliable, self-motivated, and able to work independently

⭐ Desirable (Not Essential)

• Welding / fabrication experience
• Electrical diagnostics knowledge
• NVQ / City & Guilds (or equivalent)

Due to continued growth, we’re looking for an experienced Setting Out Engineer to join our team and support new contracts across Central Scotland.

✅ What you’ll be doing:
• Setting out for foundations, drainage, roads/kerbs and external works
• Reading and working from technical drawings
• Keeping accurate site records (QA / as-built / setting-out logs)
• Working closely with site teams and subcontractors to keep projects moving

👷 What we’re looking for:
• Solid setting-out experience (new build / housebuilding preferred)
• Confident using surveying instruments
• Trimble S6 Robotic / Trimble R10 experience is a big advantage
• Good communication skills + strong attention to detail
• IT confident (Excel / Outlook)

Celebrating a Successful Health & Safety Seminar 2026

We are proud to share a truly historic moment for Mulholland Contracts: for the first time in our 52-year history, we brought together our entire team for one event, the inaugural Health & Safety Seminar 2026. This milestone gathering included not only all our dedicated site and office staff, but also our valued subcontractors and clients, with representatives from Barratt Homes, Miller Homes, Taylor Wimpey, Keepmoat Homes, Cala Homes, Avant Homes, and Robertson Homes in attendance.

Throughout the day, we renewed and strengthened our commitment to building and sustaining a robust safety culture in every area of our business.

A major highlight was the engaging and thought-provoking session delivered by Titanium Talks’ Justin Manley. His inspiring presentation introduced fresh perspectives on workplace wellbeing, resilience, and mental health, sparking meaningful and open conversations among everyone present.

We were especially moved by Justin’s powerful personal story, as he courageously shared his experience following a workplace accident. His message was a heartfelt reminder of why safety will always remain at the core of everything we do.

Thank you to everyone—employees, subcontractors, and clients—who made this landmark event possible. Together, we continue to set the standard for safety, collaboration, and support at Mulholland Contracts.
