And there it was…gone! We have been lucky with the lack of rain. All the old timbers are off (some were as rotten as a skunks un**es) and tomorrow sees us positioning pad stones to support the new ridge steels and then we can get cracking with the new roof. Can’t wait.

Stripped the old roof slates and timbers out so we can replace them with better timbers. Had to replace the brickwork that sits below the wall plate but it’s all sorted now. Got the timbers in today despite the wind and rain. Membrane and batton next and then onto the extension roof.

Now the ginormous scaffold is up, the Slate roof is the next item to be stripped off and the timbers removed ready for new steels and roof timbers for vaulted ceiling for all the upstairs bedrooms.
It will be a shame to see the slates go and be replaced with a more modern tile but there are 3 different sizes of slates and there’s a lot of damage to them.

When your customer gets a full structural survey carried out and they don’t pick up the blindingly obvious cracks between various extensions (of which there are 7 on this build, plus our two). Cracks big enough to fit your whole hand in!
Time to get the render off and open up the cracks ready to re built and stitch the walls together. More knocking out to go but we’ll 1m at a time from@the ground floor up to the gutters. PAD to the rescue 👍🏻

Building up the footings to DPC. There’s going to be a retaining wall off the side of the house so we can level the driveway for the customer but after that there will be a a lower area for a big shed hence the bricked back wall. The grey blocks will be under the finished height of the driveway.
Then we got the laser out and got our levels for DPC for the small extension at the front.
If it’s right at the bottom it will be right at the top.

Literally laser straight, tiles, door gap, middle of the tap and window frame.
Easy on tbe eye.
This wasn’t finished when I took the pic but it’s virtually done now 🙌🏻🙌🏻🙌🏻, it’s been a mammoth slog.
Total rip out, new window and wall block beneath it (the old window was on ply), new panneling, tiles in the shower, new loo, basin and unit, floor tiles and free standing bath.
