We recently carried out a bathroom to shower room refurbishment between tenants at a property in Dorchester.

The room was fully boarded with Multipanel Blizzard boarding, with a new Shenley L shaped unit with Lecico sanitary ware, a Vado shower mixer, tap, new chrome towel rail and mirror, all supplied by GMS Kitchen & Bathroom Showrooms

All items were chosen to keep cleaning as easy as possible for the new tenants whilst trying to maximise light in a windowless room.
The layout was also slightly limited due to soil pipe positions within a block of flats, the chaps worked to find a solution and maintain maximum showering space and all carried out within 5 days.

It may not of been the coolest of days to carry this out, but needs must and carrying out heating system maintenance in the summer months makes perfect sense before the busy winter months start.

We spent today power-flushing a 21 radiator heating system. Using our Kamco flushing unit and Twin magnet setup to catch and clear the magnetite and debris from the system.

It was then vented, balanced and inhibitor added for future heating protection.

We were recently asked to look at a shower tray that sunk slightly when being used.

Sam found the floor below the tray and the joists had completely rotted through, due to water seeping behind the tray for years.

He removed he enclosure, the tray and all of the rotten wood below. He then replaced the joists and chip-boarded & ply boarded the area to retain the correct height for the tiles. He also installed a new tray.

The original enclosure was refitted to save costs.

All the works were completed within the allowed timeframe and budget.

We had a bit of a tricky one this week in Preston, Weymouth.

We were asked to quickly investigate and quote for a solution to this old Dual electric cylinder as 3 previous plumbers and an electrician couldn’t quite get to the bottom of it and return quotes, even though the customers had no hot water for some time.

We recommended removing the old system and installing a 10kw Slim Jim electric flow-through boiler alongside a 150 litre unvented hot water cylinder from Joule, as there was no gas in the property to install a gas boiler.

It’s a snug fit but all fitted well, alongside new pump, magnetic system filter, system flush, zone valves, new controls and pipework.

Another lovely installation carried out this week in Uowey, Weymouth.

The team removed an undersized and unmaintained Vaillant combination boiler from this large property.

We recommend a new Worcester Bosch system boiler with a 210 litre Unvented Hot Water Cylinder, set up in a hot water priority layout.

The system is controlled by the Worcester Bosch Easy wi-fi enabled programmable thermostat giving hot water and heating control your phone.
