At Priory Electrical NE Ltd we believe in supplying the best products on the market, which is why we use the AIKO 490W Gen 3 panels on our installations.

When we heard there was going to be a UK shortage of AIKO panels, we made the decision to bulk buy stock to protect our customers from delays and cheaper substitute panels being used elsewhere. We now have enough stock to see us through until July when the next shipment arrives.

This means we will continue supplying the premium AIKO Gen 3 panels we quoted — not swapping customers onto lower-spec alternatives because of stock shortages. Unfortunately, I’m sure many of our competitors will be forced to do exactly that over the coming months.

The AIKO 490W Gen 3 panel is currently one of the highest efficiency residential panels available, offering outstanding performance, excellent low-light generation, and superb long-term reliability.

No knocking off at 4pm on this one 💪

These old farm buildings are never the easiest to work on, so we sent a full team of 6 to get it done right. Long day — 12 hours on site — but we smashed it and got the whole system installed in a single day ✅

System installed:

• 5.8 kW system
• 12 × 480W panels
• Estimated 5,270 kWh per year

🔌 What does a UPS (backup) gateway do?

A UPS / backup gateway (sometimes called an EPS box or backup box) is what keeps the lights on when the grid goes down.

👉 Without it:
Your solar system shuts off during a power cut (for safety reasons)

👉 With it:
• The system isolates your home from the grid
• The battery (and solar if there’s daylight) keeps powering key circuits or even the whole house
• You get seamless or near-instant backup depending on setup

Think of it as turning your house into a mini off-grid system during a blackout ⚡

⚡ Another Big Install Completed in Whitley Bay! ⚡

We’ve just finished this system on Dachet Road, Whitley Bay for a high energy user consuming around 9,600 kWh per year — mainly due to running an air source heat pump.

To future-proof the property and dramatically reduce grid reliance, we installed:

☀️ 9.0kW Solar PV System
19 × Aiko 475W panels
Estimated generation: 7,563 kWh per year

🔋 Tesla Powerwall 3 System
2 × Powerwall 3 batteries (27kWh total storage)
Backup Gateway for full house backup
7kW inverter with 3 MPPTs
