Recent bathroom completed in Wi******er.

For this project the client no longer required a bath so we removed the old whirlpool bath tub and replaced the small shower cubicle for a spacious walk in tray and easy to maintain fixed glass screen.

Fully tiled walls, a glue down LVT floor, wall hung toilet, large sink vanity unit and an illuminated, demisting mirror adds the finishing touches to this tranquil space.

We do love a nice new Kitchen here at Insight.

This one had a slight redesign removing a small peninsula that closed the space down and created a choke point. It proves that sometimes less is more, removing a small section of worktop and losing a unit has opened up the space to make the room feel much bigger and flow freely.

Handleless, two tone satin doors with oak cabinets, a large larder and American style fridge freezer provide plenty of storage space and slimline compact laminate worktops and high gloss large format porcelain tiles complete the clean look.

The installation of a Velux sun tunnel transforms the room adding more natural light.

We’ve been busy as always, completed a kitchen a few weeks ago (photos to follow), repaired a sinking floor screed and currently half way through a bathroom renovation but as the photo shows it feels like it going on forever ♾️😂

A small job completed a few weeks ago. This wood burner was not performing well and scorching the sides of the aperture.
Widening the opening and raising the lintel allowed more space for the air to circulate and lining the opening with vermiculite board improved the original wood burners performance and stopped the walls burning.
Finished off with a new plaster job and porcelain hearth and it looks the part too. 🔥

Recently completed project!

We matched the new Composite door and uPVC frames with the existing windows. Really enjoyed a chance to build a micro roof using clay plain tiles and a tiny tile hung gable.
Add a satisfying touch of lead step flashing and it’s almost a mini house all completed in house with no sub contractors. 🔨✏️🪚

You don’t always need to fully refurbish a room for it to have an impact.

Here the client already had the furniture and original tiles, but required a shower instead of the bath.

As the original tiles were now unavailable, solid core shower panels were used to overcome the missing section of tiling under the bath.

Together with a new LVT floor overlaying the original tiles, a new inline extractor fan and a lick of paint for the ceiling and it has become a much more usable space for the client.

I spent hours playing with Lego as a kid. Not only does it develop a great sense of visualisation but It helps you appreciate that even the smallest hidden brick placed whilst building plays a crucial role in the final result even if it’s never seen again. This set was a 45th birthday present from my son which made me realise how much I owe to all those hours of planning and making things. Those ‘things’ are much bigger nowadays but the process is the same, every stage matters 👌🏼

Introducing our new apprentice. She’s Brazilian and knows her way around a power tool or two but after checking if she’s eligible to work in the UK we discovered she is the property of Marwell Wildlife!
She gave us the slip at the end of her shift, but we hope they find her safe and sound.
If she’s still in possession of our cordless drill when she does turn up could someone return it please?
