Myth: “An electric boiler can’t heat a whole house.”
Reality: It can, when it’s specified correctly.
Electric boilers don’t heat “less.”
They’re sized to match the actual heat demand of the property, rather than defaulting to oversized outputs.
When the system is designed properly:
• Boiler output matches heat loss
• Radiators are correctly sized and balanced
• Flow temperatures are set appropriately
The result is the same: consistent, comfortable heating across the home.
The fundamentals don’t change.
Heat loss calculations don’t change.
Radiators or UFH sizing doesn’t change.
These are non-negotiable, regardless of whether the system is gas, oil, or electric.
When systems underperform, it’s usually down to specification, not the technology.
