We recently worked alongside Keltruck Scania on this 8x4 aggregate tipper, pairing a Scania chassis supplied by their team with a PPG-built alloy body.

• Smoothline insulated body, suitable for asphalt, sand and gravel
• VPG PM1155 onboard weighing system with in-cab display
• 60/40 split insulated tail door with our two-stage Pneumax safety system

This week, inside the workshop we're building two monocoque tipping bodies.

The ribbed side panels aren't just a design choice; they're engineered strength to support the toughest of bulk haulage.

These custom-built bodies from PPG Fabrication are prepared for a vital role: transporting Recycled Asphalt Planings.

Recycled Asphalt Planings is the material generated when roads are resurfaced; essentially, it's the old road surface itself. Instead of ending up in landfill, the recycled asphalt planings are processed and reused in new road construction, promoting a circular economy in infrastructure.

Our bodies are designed with enhanced safety features, such as a taller headboard to protect the cab and chassis, and robust construction to handle the material's density and discharge efficiently.

Is your tipper body showing its age, but the chassis is still going strong? Re-bodying may be an option 👇

The process of re-bodying is pretty simple: we remove the existing body, assess which components can be retained, such as the tipping gear and load cells where appropriate, then manufacture and fit a brand new body built to your chosen specification.

From sheeting systems and lighting through to paint finish, your new body is tailored to suit your operation. We can even quote to repaint the cab while the vehicle is with us.

Every vehicle is different, which is why there isn't a one-size-fits-all answer.

Watch as a PPG Fabrication Smoothline body meets its chassis 👇

Using an overhead crane, our skilled staff carefully position the aluminium body into place on the chassis. Body alignment is critical to safety, performance, stability and longevity in service.

Final stages for this build is bolting and welding the body in place, then it will head off for safety and pre-delivery inspections.
