Here at A.S.H Displays Solutions we use a range of methods when manufacturing our point-of-sale products. When bonding we use various methods, including Plastic Welding.

Plastic welding is used to join thermoplastics by heating the material and a plastic welding rod until they are malleable and join into a single, unified structure as the rod is heated it is run along the seem between the different parts being bonded.

Once they cool, they are fused together almost as if they were one single piece of plastic material forming a very strong bond.

There are several types of plastic welding techniques including: hot gas, fan welding, laser welding, ultrasonic, spin welding and vibration welding.

Typically, the most common method of welding that we use is solvent welding.

This method does not rely on heating up the materials. Instead, the solvent is applied, and chemical bonds are produced between surfaces, and this creates a very strong seem. It’s a very simple, effective and inexpensive way to weld plastics together effectively.
