Rockford has grown over the years through strategic acquisition of companies in the industry, which has strengthened and broadened its capabilities. A notable acquisition was CLS Wiring Systems 2000 Ltd., which specialised in the design and manufacture of automotive military cable harnesses, ranging from heavy-duty power applications to high-temperature engine applications, using both conduit and heat-shrinkable products. Rockford also purchased the business of the former Woven Electronics, based in Wilton near Salisbury. Woven Electronic Components Ltd. offered a total interconnect package, from the engineering and design of basic cable assemblies to over-moulded assemblies. As the originator and leader of woven cable technology, Woven Electronics offered a wide range of woven cables to meet the increasing needs of today’s customers. Rockford now has offices in Salisbury, Wiltshire, in Worksop, Nottinghamshire, the headquarters in Rendlesham, Suffolk, and a joint venture in Abu Dhabi to support the MENA region. Rockford-Xellerix LLC is a fully compliant Emirati entity with the required 51% ownership by an Emirati National. This is in accordance with the guidelines set out by the UAE Offset Program Bureau.
