We’re proud to share the launch of Plugsol, a new plug‑in solar option that makes small‑scale renewable energy more accessible for households across Great Britain. Plugsol’s 400W and 800W kits are designed for simple, everyday use - two or four panels that plug straight into a standard socket and begin generating clean electricity right away.

The kits are lightweight, easy to install and ideal for sheds, balconies, patios and garden offices. For many homes, they offer a straightforward way to cut daytime energy costs and reduce reliance on the grid.

As a long‑established solar installer, we’re pleased to see another route into renewable energy becoming available, especially for people who may not have the space or circumstances for a traditional rooftop system.

Our renewables update is out a little early this month thanks to the Bank Holiday weekend, and there’s plenty going on. Solar has kept up its record-breaking pace through August, with installations climbing and generation hitting new highs, while battery storage continues to grow both on rooftops and through major grid projects. Plug‑in solar is now legal across Great Britain too, opening the door to small‑scale generation for more households. And with energy prices still shifting around, it’s no surprise that more businesses are looking at ways to generate and store their own electricity.

We’ve recently completed a solar PV installation for Collins Skip Hire in Suffolk, supporting their move towards lower‑carbon operations and long‑term energy savings.

East Green Energy designed and delivered a 167 kWp roof‑mounted system made up of 366 modules and three inverters, providing reliable on‑site generation to help reduce grid demand across their busy offices, workshops and recycling facilities. As part of the project, we also installed a permanent handrail to ensure safe access for future operations and maintenance.

The new system will cut carbon emissions, lower energy costs and strengthen Collins Skip Hire’s sustainability credentials, giving the business a cleaner and more resilient energy profile for the future.
