10 years ago today, Solar Sentry was honoured to receive the Most Promising New Business Award, just three years after opening our doors.
Back in 2013, Solar Sentry Window Film was founded by Tom after years of hard work, determination, and unwavering belief in his vision. He worked tirelessly, day and night, to build something special. Winning this award so early in the journey meant the world to him and to everyone who supported, encouraged, and believed in him along the way. It was recognition that people beyond his immediate circle could see the potential in what he was creating.
In 2015, the business welcomed its first apprentice, Tom’s sister Hannah, marking the beginning of its growth. In 2017, his oldest friend Jon joined as the first installer. The business continued to grow, and before long, six hands simply weren’t enough. In 2018, Tom’s best friend James joined to take over running the office so Tom could be out networking and installing and finally in 2022 Tom's brother Joe was welcomed as our installer. From there, Solar Sentry went from strength to strength.
Today, the four of us are proud to carry on the legacy Tom started, a business he poured his heart and soul into. Every day, we continue working towards the dream he had all those years ago.
We remember Tom always, and his passion remains at the heart of everything we do.
Looking back, “Most Promising New Business” was the perfect award title, because here we are, 10 years later, still growing, still thriving, and still building on the foundations Tom created.
