** Exciting New Opportunity **

We are seeking an experienced Electrical Supervisor to lead on-site electrical operations across a variety of projects. This is a hands-on role combining technical expertise, team leadership, and client engagement.

Key Responsibilities:: Oversee and coordinate on-site teams, ensuring work is completed safely, on time, and to the highest quality standards. Conduct site inspections, enforce health & safety compliance, and liaise with clients and contractors. Manage resources, tools, and materials efficiently, and support project managers with progress reporting. The successful candidate will report to the Director / Contracts Manager.

Skills & Experience: Proven supervisory experience in electrical work, strong knowledge of electrical systems and installation practices, and familiarity with current regulations. Excellent leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills are essential.

Qualifications: NVQ Level 3 in Electrical Installation (or equivalent)
City & Guilds 18th Edition Wiring Regulations | ECS/CSCS Card | Full driving licence

Millom Old Library has reached another important milestone, with Stobbarts Electrical completing its work to help keep the building safe and secure.

The project has brought together two companies from across the Stobbarts group, with Stobbarts Ltd and Stobbarts Electrical working closely together to deliver the works safely and in a coordinated way.

Stobbarts Ltd carried out the main refurbishment works to make the building wind and watertight, including roof repairs, chimney works, timber repairs and repointing brick and stonework to protect the structure. Stobbarts Electrical then installed emergency lighting, heating systems, fire alarms and security measures to ensure the building remains protected ahead of handover.

Working in a busy town centre and within a historic building required careful planning and close teamwork throughout the project, helping ensure the building’s historic character was protected while the works were completed safely.

The project is being delivered on behalf of the Nuclear Decommissioning Authority and helps safeguard one of Millom’s most recognisable historic buildings for the future.

The works at Stan Palmer Honda on Europe Way, Cockermouth are now complete, giving the site a bold new look.

Stan Palmer provides a strong selection of new and used vehicles, along with servicing and aftersales support from their Lamplugh Road location.

Stobbarts Electrical installed the new signage, cabling, and LED lighting columns. Working alongside our construction team at Stobbarts Limited, who carried out the groundworks, excavations, landscaping, and pin kerb installation, the project highlights the benefit of delivering works through coordinated in-house teams.

Protecting Millom’s Heritage: Stobbarts Electrical at Millom Old Library

Stobbarts Electrical is carrying out important works at Millom Old Library to protect the building and its historic fabric.

Our work includes emergency lighting, heating, fire alarm systems, and security measures to keep the building safe ahead of handover.

These electrical works follow on from refurbishment by Stobbarts Ltd (construction), which made the library wind- and watertight, repairing timbers, repointing brickwork, and roof-stripping. Together, these works help prevent damp, protect against fire, and secure the building until it is fully used again.

Led on behalf of the Nuclear Decommissioning Authority (NDA), the project preserves one of Millom’s most distinctive historic buildings for potential future use and for generations to come.

The Public Reading Room and Free Library was established in 1887, taking over a former Working Men’s Club built in 1882, and later served as council offices. Stobbarts is proud to continue helping protect Millom’s heritage.
