Chandos House, Manchester | 1,224-bed student accommodation development

Another major project completed by Workspace Blinds following an incredibly busy summer.
Working with Bowmer + Kirkland on Chandos House for iQ Student Accommodation, we delivered the window blind package across the three residential blocks, together with the blinds and curtains throughout the extensive amenity spaces.
The scale of the main package was significant — 1,782 roller blinds across the residential accommodation, with a further 36 roller blinds installed throughout the amenity areas.
The amenity package was a very different part of the project.
We supplied and installed curtains across the gym, Shift Studio, private dining rooms, lounges, focus spaces, cinema, karaoke room, Board Game Den, Student Hub and Content Creation areas, using a carefully selected mix of voiles, textured fabrics and stronger feature colours to complement the different interior schemes.
The track package included 69 metres of black curtain rail, together with bespoke aluminium systems and a recessed Silent Gliss system within the Focus Lounge.
Altogether, that's 1,818 roller blinds plus the complete amenity curtain and track package delivered by Workspace Blinds on one development.
Chandos House is a fantastic addition to Manchester and we're very pleased to have played our part in delivering it.

We've worked with iQ for many years across their portfolio, and projects like Chandos House demonstrate the range we can deliver — from high-volume bedroom packages through to bespoke blinds, curtains and specialist track systems for premium amenity spaces.
We're now looking ahead to our winter programme and projects coming through for 2027.

Fairfax, Manchester — one of our biggest projects of the summer.
A project that really demonstrates the scale and variety of work we can deliver at Workspace Blinds.
Working with RG Group for Olympian Homes, we supplied and installed the curtain package across the Fairfax development in Manchester, covering both the residential accommodation and the extensive amenity spaces.
The main residential package included over 2,000 curtains, finished in Venus Natural, across the bedrooms and living spaces.
The amenity areas were a completely different proposition, incorporating Kvadrat Drops Acoustic Voile across the private dining areas, meeting rooms, boardroom, podcast room and shared spaces, with a combination of manual and large motorised curtain systems.
One of the standout elements was the main entrance.
Across the East and West entrances alone, there is over 40 metres of curtain track, with curtains approximately 5.4 metres high and some substantial motorised systems — including a single 15-metre motorised track.
From high-volume bedroom curtains through to bespoke, technically demanding amenity installations, it was a substantial package and a project we're very pleased to have delivered.

Anyone looking for work around the Worksop area?

We’re looking for someone CSCS qualified to join us for around a month initially, possibly longer, and it could turn into a permanent job for the right person depending on workload.

We work on sites all over the UK, so you need to be happy travelling and staying away when required.

Clean driving licence essential and preferably 25+ due to our fleet insurance.

Main thing is we’re looking for someone reliable, hardworking and willing to get stuck in.
