So this is a truly momentous day - Neil, the captain of this All Gears ship has reached the ripe old age of 60 years.
It’s been a rollercoaster of a life for him, but here he is still smiling and fixing gearboxes.
He’s been fixing gearboxes as All Gears for 25 years now and there are no plans to stop.
For the most part he’s a private man who is a fiercely loyal family man & is devoted to his daughter, 2 grandchildren and of course his wife. His friends are also a huge part of his life and he holds them very close to his heart, but there is a very special relationship between Neil & his Jack Russell dog ‘Dave’ who has been by his side at home & at work every day for the last 10 years.
He is currently away on a two week holiday celebrating his birthday with his wife, but will be back at his bench from Monday 7th September when normal service will resume.

**** HELP ****

So it’s not often we’re stuck for a part here at All Gears, but stuck on this occasion we truly are….

We are in desperate need of a spring out of a 5 speed ZF gearbox from an E36 328i. The part number is: 233 1122 4833.

It has been discontinued at BMW, so is longer available to buy from them & so far every outlet that has advertised one for sale haven’t had the physical stock.

So if anyone out there can help we & especially our customer whom is waiting for their gearbox back would be extremely grateful.

The spring in question is No: 17 in the diagram and the photo is of the actual item needed.

So in an attempt to declutter All Gears towers we’ve taken the decision to start advertising for sale some of our second hand “stuff”

The first item on the list is this ‘used’ 3.31:1 ratio crownwheel & pinion for a Jaguar 4HA diff.

This perfect condition matched pair were taken out of an E-Type V12 diff when we carried out a 2.88:1 conversion for a customer who wanted a better cruiser from his car.

This lot can be installed in a variety of 4HA axles such as MK2 Jaguars & Scimitars. We can also carry out the installation if you wish.

At the asking price of £399 Vat is included & so is free shipping within mainland U.K.

Good morning lovely people.

We’ve been very fortunate to be trusted with the rebuild of a ZF 5 speed gearbox & L*D from a BMW Z3M Coupe recently from a brand new customer.

Hopefully the stark contrast between the before and after photos comes across as impressive as the real thing - our customer was most certainly impressed.

Well - one of our ‘long term residents’ in the shape of a Vauxhall Calibra 6 speed F28 gearbox is finally completed.
This one was already converted to 2WD - we’ve completed a full rebuild of it including aqua blasted cases & plated fasteners as per customer instructions.
The customer also supplied a brand new Quaife 2WD ATB diff that we installed to top off a beautiful & satisfying job.

**** HELP ****

It’s very rare that we’re stumped here at All Gears, but right now we’re as stumped as a stumped thing on a stumped day….

We’re trying to complete a certain Porsche 944 turbo gearbox for a very patient customer & we are desperately trying to find one of these spring retaining clips. These have been discontinued through the dealer network since 2022.
The part number is: 016 311 861 C

If one of you fine people out there could please help us locate one of these we would appreciate it hugely.
