🎃Alexander mouthpiece brought back from the dead in time for halloween🎃

Here at Robinson Brass (📍Yeovil, Somerset) I've spent many years restoring and modifying mouthpieces and this one was a real challenge to restore due to heavy damage.
It was also requested that I reduce the shank size, meaning the piece will sit further into the instrument receiver.

Precision work is at the heart of everything we do.

But I hope you'll agree it was worth the many hours of effort carefully bringing it back to life.

This Ex-Sunlife band EEb took a lot of effort. Mainly as the slides were really stuck. The 1st slide being so stuck it needed to be unsoldered.
After which, the whole instrument had a service, replacement parts and a hand polish. Ready to make music again! 🎺

Another of many instruments through the workshop for a full service. Dissasembly, free up stuck slides and valves, full multi-step chemical cleaning, replacement hand cut felts and valve alignment, new corks/springs/etc and a hand polish. Ready to play better than ever.

Spot the difference? Bach Strad Trumpet in the workshop to have a dent out, a full service and a new leadpipe put on. Looks rather smart!

Nothing beats a full service on your beloved instrument!... Actually having custom finger button inlays made AND a custom modified mouthpiece crafted at the same time definitely tips it over the scale.
The mouthpiece is a Denis Wick 3B with a custom wide rim crafted as a copy from another mouthpiece that the customer felt was very comfortable. Then finished in full bright silver.

It's been a long time coming, replacing my small removable sign with a much better, bigger fixed sign for the workshop.

Operation was a success.. Bell swapped over, tweaks to bracing to fit and a custom made bell tail ferrule connector to suit the new bell tail diameter. The details matter!
