A lot of what I do is actually repairing/improving other work that's been done, In this case likely a DIY attempt at adding a 1st slide stop which unfortunately left the slide completely unusable and was very messy.

The slide was out of alignment and so were the stop parts so It had no chance of working at all.
Some time later... we have a rebuilt slide and stop correctly adjusted / installed as if it was always meant to be there.

Here's the result of some care and hard work!
This set of 5 Trombone underparts and rim all needed to be restored and replated as well as some repairs to the threads.

To top it off It was requested that I make a copy of the rim in Perspex.
What do you think? Miles better than before.

After dissasembly + freeing up stuck parts, full multi-step cleaning process, custom cut felts and valve alignment, replacement corks and springs etc and hand polish.

This old mouthpiece had a heavily worn shank that was visible with the naked eye and didn't fit the Trumpet properly at all, causing it to fall out.
The request was to bring the shank back to spec and in this case, not to silver plate it and not alter the mouthpiece in any other way.

1. Assess the piece and take some measurements
2. Carefully and precisely align the piece in the lathe and cut the shank "straight"
3. Machine a brass sleeve that precisely fits the straight shank of the piece
4. Solidly fix the sleeve and then machine the taper to the required spec, in this case as per it's original size.
5. Happy musician
