Works completed at Goodramgate this month.

The Grade II listed building, previously a warehouse and residential property, has undergone a full renovation. This included refurbishing the two existing apartments and creating a third apartment in the previously unused loft space.

We have just completed works at The Star Inn The City, a well-known city centre restaurant in York, updating the toilet facilities which dated back to their opening in 2013.

Working with Rachel McLane, the refurb focused on utilising the space, creating more toilet cubicles and a new vanity area.

Work at a private residence in York has commenced, with extensive structural alterations well underway to the existing structure.

New block and beam extension in situ in preparation for York Handmade Brick work.

Substructure floors excavated to reduce level dig to accommodate new insulated sub floors and polished concrete finish.

First fix to commence in January 2024 which involves a new air source heat pump.

Work has commenced on site in Ulleskelf at Stanhope Gardens for 25 3, 4 and 5 bed new build homes.

Rolling out over the next few years, the first house is set to be ready in Q2 2024.

A big well done and congratulations to the GEM Construction team on winning the charity golf day at The Oaks in aid of York Sports Club development last month.

Archie, Louis, James and Liam won overall as a team as well as James winning the nearest to the pin and Liam winning the longest drive. Don't be getting any ideas about quitting your day jobs boys!

Thanks to York Sports Club for putting on such a great event.

We recently completed the conversion on Eden Valley Farm Barns to Flakebridge Estate. Previously stone and slate barns, cattle byers and diary into a stone hospitality centre and holiday lodges.

Facilities in the hospitality centre include: a drawing room, bar, breakfast room, shooting/gun room and a commercial kitchen. The adjacent bar houses a wine cellar and billiards room.

The seven stone cottages of phase one sleeps 24 people and have been converted from the former farm buildings and all include a kitchen and en-suite bathroom.

Completion pictures of York Minster Refectory, previously Minster School, a Grade II listed building that has been fully refurbed and converted into a brasserie style restaurant.

Opened on 6th of April by Their Majesties King Charles III and Queen Camilla.

The project included the installation of solar slates to the roof which forecast to produce 11,000 kwh of power a year on average. The energy accumulated from the solar slates feed into the invertors which subsequently feeds the hot water supplies to the washroom facilities. It is the first listed building in York to have solar.

We also supplied and installed a ASHP located on the plant deck to serve power to the building. The ASHP supplies the underfloor heating system to the entrance lobby.

The GEM team are working on converting the former Minster School into a fully accessible restaurant and takeaway with an outdoor terrace which has fantastic views of York Minster.
