Then winter comes and it’s the other way round. Freezing. Clients sat there in their coats trying to relax

Now she can’t wait to get in it. And her clients aren’t melting or shivering while they’re getting their treatment done

Remembering what I have was once a dream , a stretch too far something I once never thought possible, what have you achieved that is someone else’s dream?

Went out for a family meal last night. T T’s in Acomb Wood Park. Me, Emma and Ebony’s partner.

Ebony works there part time. And as kids do she’d asked if I could fix a faulty tap while I was in.

From what she described I knew the problem before I even left the house. So I took my little folding bucket with a couple of tools in. Tap fixed before I’d even had my meal.

So there I am. Eating my burger. Tools under the table.

Then the owner of the Italian next door walks in. I overhear our restaurant owner telling him if you need to wash any pots or need any water bring them round and I’ll stick them in the dishwasher at the end of shift.

Ears pricked up. That’s a plumbing problem that. So I asked him. Do you need a hand with plumbing? I’ve got my tools with me.

He couldn’t believe it. A plumber sat in the restaurant. Tools at his feet. Ready to go.

Went round. Turns out a customer had turned the water off at a lever valve in the toilet. Simple fix. Water back on.

Two restaurants sorted before pudding.

Right place right time. What are the chances of that?

Check their reviews. Not just the star rating, read what people actually say.

Do they have an online presence? A real one, with their face on it?

Do they answer the phone? Do they turn up when they say they will?

If someone’s hiding, there’s usually a reason.

Been burned by a tradesman before? Tell me what happened in the comments. The more we talk about this stuff the harder it gets for the dodgy ones to keep doing it.
