Before any steel gets cut, our design team has already solved the hardest part of the problem.

Using 3D modelling software, they map out exactly how new machinery and equipment will fit into a customer's existing mill, working around real constraints like limited space, awkward access and site-specific regulations.

Every project gets checked against British standards like BS EN 1090 and CDM regulations from the outset, so what we build is safe, compliant and ready to install with minimal disruption.

It's not the most visible part of what we do. But it's where a lot of the real engineering happens.

One batch beats three. Here's why.

A long-standing Cumbrian customer came to us with a familiar mill problem: too much double handling and too much airborne dust.

We installed their new 13-tonne Keenan mixer and redesigned the surrounding process, including a new discharge and conveying system, an extended and fully enclosed holding bin, and discharge bellows that lower product gently to the ground instead of dropping it from height.

The result?

A great example of what real material movement innovation looks like. Not one big fix, but a series of connected changes that add up to a genuinely better way of working for the people on site.

Some jobs come with a bit of history attached.

Thompsons Feeding Innovation in Belfast has been feeding animals across Ireland for over 150 years, growing from a small grocer's shop on Donegall Quay into Europe's largest multi-species feed mill.

When two of the mill's original 1970s grinders needed replacing, they brought us in to design and install the upgrade. Alongside Altrech, Tietjen and Apex Electrical, our team delivered the project across two planned shutdowns.

Earlier this year, we delivered a pellet press upgrade, designing a bespoke modification that improved reliability and extended equipment life without full replacement.

We also optimised a packing plant layout, integrating new handling solutions to increase throughput and remove bottlenecks, all within the existing building constraints.
