MAMA YAKAGBE:
''The Legendarry Female Warrior of Anlo''

Mama Yakagbe was a woman warrior, who fought alongside her male counterparts during ''THE DATSUTAGBA WAR''.
She fought so gallantly that on her return, ‘’a chief’s Stool of Valour’’ was created for her. She was reputed to possess supernatural powers which she displayed on the battleground.
Today, her Stool is at ATORKOR (Adela Ako Korpe). and is regarded as one of the powerful Stools of Anlo.
She ranked in valor as ‘’the leaders of all women warriors of Amazon Benin’’ and other African women of repute.
Tsala, and his Twin brother Tsali (sons of Togbiga Detor Akplormada of Hogbe) and Mama Yakagbe remain three of the greatest Legends of the ANLO-EWES.
( Legendary Warrior Dufia of Anyako was one such Anlo Leader).
Their names invoke great pride and inspiration among the people who knew them.
