Golden Star Wassa Women’s Summit Drives Inclusion, Growth And Action

On 24 April, the Women’s Committee of the Ghana Mine Workers’ Union Branch at Golden Star Wassa hosted the Empowered Miners Summit under the theme, Driving Productivity Through Inclusion and Bold Advocacy.

Women from different departments and experience levels came together for open conversations on their role in mining, personal development, workplace inclusion, and professional growth. The summit ended with resolutions to support continuous learning, participation, and greater inclusion for women at all levels.

New Golden Star Wassa Chairman Pays Working Visit To Traditional Authorities

Golden Star Wassa’s newly appointed Chairman Mr. Tony Zhang has officially begun direct engagement with one of the company’s most important stakeholder groups, its host communities.

Mr. Zhang, who also serves as Head of Operations for Chifeng Gold, led the Wassa leadership team on a working visit to the traditional leaders of Mamponso and Wassa Fiase on 22 April 2026, reaffirming the company’s commitment to community development and responsible mining.

The visit strengthened partnerships and highlighted Golden Star’s dedication to shared prosperity and sustainable growth.

In celebration of World Health Day, under the theme “Together for Health: Stand with Science,” Golden Star partnered with Project C.U.R.E. to assess healthcare needs across our host communities .

This video captures key moments from the assessment,highlighting critical gaps in infrastructure and service delivery, and the communities at the heart of our work.

The findings will guide the donation of medical supplies and equipment to strengthen healthcare delivery in Akyempim, Ateiku, Nsadweso, Benso, Brofoyedro, and Mpohor.
