Dear Hon.Alexander kwamena Afenyo-Markin
REQUEST FOR INTERVENTION REGARDING STUDENT DEACTIVATION AND EXAMINATION RESTRICTIONS
I write to respectfully appeal for your intervention on behalf of students at the University of Education, Winneba (UEW), following a recent notice indicating the deactivation of student portals due to unpaid fees.
As communicated by the University, students with outstanding fees have had their portals deactivated, which restricts access to lectures, learning materials, and University systems, and ultimately bars us from participating in the upcoming mid-semester examinations for the second semester of the 2024/2025 academic year.
While we acknowledge the importance of fee compliance, many students, including myself, are currently facing genuine financial hardships. The economic challenges have made it extremely difficult to meet full payment deadlines, despite our commitment to continuing our education.
Honourable, considering your unwavering support for education and youth development in the Effutu Constituency and beyond, I humbly appeal for your kind intervention. We kindly request that you engage with the University authorities for a possible extension or a payment arrangement that would allow affected students to write the exams while completing fee payments.
Your timely assistance will provide great relief to many struggling but determined students whose academic futures are at risk.
Thank you very much for your continued support and advocacy for education.
Yours sincerely,
Dorcas Lamalem
