Gold Fields Ghana has officially presented a US$5 million sponsorship package to the Ghana Football Association in support of our national teams — the Black Stars, Black Queens, Black Challenge, and the Women’s Premier League.

This two-year sponsorship will fuel preparation and participation in international competitions, elevate Ghana’s performance on the global stage, and promote inclusive sports development. It also aligns with our broader environmental, social and governance priorities.

For over two decades, Gold Fields has invested over US$37 million in Ghana’s sporting ecosystem. These contributions have strengthened Ghana’s global presence, boosted national unity and pride, created opportunities for youth development, and supported local economic activity.

To ensure transparency and accountability, KPMG Ghana has been appointed to administer and disburse the sponsorship funds.

This initiative underscores Gold Fields’ continued commitment to national development through sport — promoting inclusion across gender and ability, empowering youth, and positioning ourselves as a trusted partner in Ghana’s growth.

Our Group CEO, Mike Fraser, together with our senior leadership team, recently paid a courtesy call on Nana Asare Brempong II, Chief of the Apinto Divisional Area, and elders of the divisional council.

The team was warmly welcomed by Nana Dr. Kwaw Adarkwa Bediako III, Apinto Gyaasehene, who shared the rich history of Awudua as a key centre of gold mining in Ghana. He also introduced members of the council and chiefs from our host communities, highlighting the governance structure of the Apinto Divisional Council.

During the engagement, Mike emphasised the strategic importance of our Ghana operations, which contribute about 25% of Gold Fields’ total production.

He reaffirmed our commitment to sustainable mining, long term investment through the extension of the Tarkwa lease, and socio-economic development through employment, community initiatives and livelihood programmes.

At Gold Fields, we believe responsible mining goes hand in hand with strong partnerships and cultural respect. We remain dedicated to responsible and sustainable mining and strengthened stakeholder engagement.

At Gold Fields Ghana Foundation, we believe that access to safe and reliable water is essential for thriving communities.

In partnership with World Vision International, we have handed over a 160 cubic metres water facility to the Damang community. The system includes 18 standpipes for convenient access to potable water and 2 fire hydrants to boost emergency response and community safety.

Powered by solar energy from four solar farms, the facility is designed to operate efficiently, sustainably, and cost‑effectively — reducing dependence on conventional power sources.

With an investment of over US$480,000 (70% funded by the Foundation and 30% by World Vision Ghana), this project reflects our continued commitment to impactful community development.

The Damang water project is built for long‑term sustainability, ensuring that residents enjoy reliable access to clean water while promoting health, safety, and improved quality of life.

Together, we are building stronger, healthier communities.

The Gold Fields Ghana Foundation, in partnership with Unilever Ghana (Pepsodent), joined the global celebration of World Oral Health Day with an impactful event under the theme “A Happy Mouth is … A Happy Mind.”

The event brought together pupils and community members for interactive oral health education and practical demonstrations on proper toothbrushing techniques.

More than 1,460 participants benefited from oral health screenings, with those requiring further care referred to designated health facilities. To encourage lasting change, oral hygiene products were distributed to reinforce the importance of daily oral care routines.

This initiative reflects the Foundation’s commitment to improving community health through preventive interventions and strategic partnerships. By working together, we are creating healthier smiles, happier minds, and stronger communities.

The Gold Fields Ghana Foundation, in partnership with World Vision Ghana, is handing over a 160‑litre capacity water facility to the Damang community — resolving a long‑standing water challenge and bringing relief to hundreds of households.

The water facility, which connects 200 households in Damang to clean water, has:

✅ 18 standpipes for easy access
✅ 51 solar panels and 4 solar farms powering operations sustainably
✅ 2 fire hydrants for safety and resilience

An investment of US$326,000 has gone into making this possible. To ensure long‑term impact, the facility will be managed by the Water and Sanitation (WATSAN) committee, in collaboration with the Prestea‑Huni Valley Municipality. The committee has been fully trained and equipped by the Foundation to oversee operations responsibly.

This project adds to the small‑town water systems already provided by the Foundation and reflects our commitment to community wellbeing and sustainability. Together, we are making access to safe water a reality for Damang.
