SKILL ALONE WON’T FEED YOU.
They never lied to us, you drunk from the surface.
They said “Learn a hand work and you’ll never go hungry.” Half truth.
I know too many skilled youth. Tailors, welders, and electricians who are still broke because skill without business sense is like farming with a blunt cutlass.
Ecclesiastes 10:10 says it best: “If the axe is dull and he does not sharpen its edge, then he must exert more strength; but wisdom [to sharpen the axe] helps him succeed [with less effort].”
The wisdom to sharpen before you swing.
Moving from SKILLS to PROFIT means asking:
What problem am I actually solving?
Who is desperate for this solution right now?
How do I package it so they pay me well and thank me after?
LET ME COME AGAIN:
Sharpening means:
Understand the problem. Don’t just sew. Solve “I need work clothes that last” for nurses in Accra.
Price for profit, not pity. “God bless you” won’t buy materials.
Deliver solutions, not just services. Clients pay for peace of mind, not your effort.
The TVET certificate will get us in the room. It’s the business sense that keeps you at the table.
Don’t just be skilled. Be sharp. Be profitable. Your community needs solution-bringers, not just certificate holders.
Tag a skilled friend who needs to hear this 😊
