Speaker Spotlight: Introducing Oscar Obonyo (mEIK),(mIAIA),(mISSP)
We are excited to feature Oscar Obonyo (mEIK),(mIAIA),(mISSP) a Circular Economy and Climate Advocate with extensive experience in ESG, corporate sustainability, and climate-conscious business transformation across East Africa.
Oscar currently serves as a Sustainability Specialist with Majid Al Futtaim and is a board member at Sustainability Champions Network and Phicron Consult Limited. Over the past decade, he has worked across renewable energy, infrastructure, private equity, retail, and FMCG sectors, championing innovative circular economy models and sustainability strategies that support resilient businesses and communities.
A licensed Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA) expert, Oscar is an active member of several professional bodies, including the Environment Institute of Kenya (EIK), the International Association of Impact Assessment (IAIA), the International Society of Sustainability Professionals (ISSP), ESG Business Institute, and the National Environment Management Authority (NEMA). His work has influenced sustainability policies and projects across Kenya, Uganda, Tanzania, Somalia, Ethiopia, and Sudan.
Passionate about advancing climate action and practical sustainability solutions, Oscar continues to support businesses and institutions in integrating circularity, climate mitigation, and ESG principles into operations and long-term strategy. Beyond his professional work, he also uses music and literature as creative tools to advocate for environmental responsibility and social impact.
