XIV Cell Wall Meeting in Chania

XIV Cell Wall Meeting in Chania The Dept of Horticultural Genetics & Biotechnology and the Conference Center of MAICh are the organizers of the XIV Cell Wall Meeting in Chania (CWM2016) Sc.

The Mediterranean Agronomic Institute at Chania, Greece, during the last ten years, has developed its M. programs aiming at the education of executive and academic personnel of high caliber, able, to identify policies and opportunities, trained into the state of art in technology and general know-how at large. The post-graduate programs concentrate to areas of knowledge and fields in which a great

number of opportunities would be present while at the same time, the infrastructure, the latest technology laboratory equipment and the necessary personnel provide the skills that enables the exploitation of the opportunities. Thus the course work delivery required in their D.S.P.U (Advanced Post-University Diploma) and the intense research training to selected relevant topics in their M. year meet the required convergence conditions related to human capital development. The Conference Center of MAICh with its versatile design combines first class standards of comfort and service with the latest technology in a prestigious location. The department of Horticultural Genetics & Biotechnology aims to empower the students mentoring experiences of high quality in the mechanisms, capabilities, uses and limitations of plant biotechnology using cutting edge technologies on high throughput omics, genetics, bioinformatics and plant genetic engineering. Great progress has been made over the last two decades in understanding plant biology and genetics, due to the rapid developments in applied plant biotechnology and molecular breeding techniques. These, in turn, have had an enormous impact on the science and practice of agriculture and horticulture. The major goals of the Department of Horticultural Genetics and Biotechnology are to provide the students with a thorough grounding in the mechanisms, capabilities, uses and limitations of plant biotechnological methods so that they will be able to apply them to problems related to horticultural production and quality. MAICh's Conference department combines knowledge, professionalism, consistency and the expertise of highly skilled personnel and executive staff to organize meetings and conferences. It facilitates functions relevant to conference organization such as marketing, budgeting, advertising, scientific program, social program, and registration. It also offers secretarial multilingual services before, during and after the event. The Conference Center Bureau of the Mediterranean Agronomic Institute of Chania (M.A.I.Ch.) has been certified by DQS GmbH with DIN EN ISO 9001: 2008 for the organisation and accommodation of conferences and related activities.
