Once in a while we like to record an episode in Spanish. this was one of those. while visiting Granada we had the pleasure to speak with David's friend and former colleague Sebastiano.
Sebastiano de Franciscis is a physicist, science communicator, and manager of scicomm projects. He's currently a postoc Universidad de Granada and the comms and outreach manager for the Spanish consortium of the PLATO space mission. His work focuses on bringing science closer to the public through events, lectures and publications.

Better late than never etc etc...

September's episode will be with the lovely Crystal Mendoza, so watch this space.

Shout out to the awesome staff Black Laboratory Brewing for being the nicest and possibly most apt hosts we've ever had! 🧪

Do you ever wonder what happens to our guests after we've spoken with them?

Well we have, so we've decided to go back and revisit some of our old friends to see how they're faring in life after 2Scis, this time inviting you all to join us!
We're starting our "where are they now?" series with Dr. Christian Brown - the Salamander Scientist. We spoke with him back in 2022 where he told us about the acrobatics of salamanders jumping out of giant redwoods. Naturally, he's learned a lot more since, so we're excited to catch up with him as a presenter at the annual taste of science festival online.
You can find his previous episode at:

and more details about the event at:

We're looking forward to seeing you there!

Terms like hospice and palliative care can feel like worst case scenarios for terminal cancer patients, but they’re part of a system of care, offering them the best quality of life.

In this episode Dr. Saima Rashid and Parmvir discuss when and how to request supportive care services, the benefits for patients and families, and a real caregiver perspective.

This is the second part of a conversation for the Cancer in our Community podcast, which is produced by: .tbccn at and .science.media.

2Scientists had been on hiatus for some time, and this episode goes part of the way to explaining why. This is the first part of a conversation for the Cancer in our Community podcast, which is produced by: The Office of Community Outreach and Engagement (.tbccn) at and .science.media.

Less of the science, and more of a candid conversation about what it means to become a caregiver for your loved one. 2scientists.org/podcast/caregiver1

So it's been about 18 months since we last recorded an episode with a guest, but we're pretty sure we remember how these things work. So let's begin by introducing you to our next scientist: Dr. Julie Dragon.
She works at the University of Vermont where her web profile states that "Her work centers on the use of large genomics data sets to address evolutionary, environmental, and biomedical questions. Dr. Dragon is committed to leveraging genomics data to address many issues impacting our planet and lives, and making that data accessible to the many teams she collaborates with."
She's also worked on projects sending new technologies into space, which is pretty awesome, so we're very much looking forward to speaking with her later today!

It's been a while friends and part of that is good news, but part of it the saddest. However, after a couple of years of hiatus, we have a year of fun travels in the works, and it felt like we didn't want to miss this opportunity. So we're looking forward to introducing you to old friends, and new as 2Scientists seek out the coolest scientists to talk to, so you get to learn about them wherever you like to listen!

We're excited to be heading to San Francisco soon, and lucky to be taking the opportunity to record an episode of our podcast in the process. Our next guest is Niba Audrey Nirmal. Here she is in her own words:

"I'm Niba, and I create videos about science, nature, and beauty as on YouTube, Instagram, and TikTok.
With a background in climate change, plant science, and diversity studies, I've had the opportunity to host 'Hungry Planet' on PBS, where I explore the science behind the food we eat and how communities are working to preserve it for future generations. I also host science news and research videos for SciShow, bringing the latest discoveries to a wider audience.
When I'm not diving into the world of science communication, you can find me petting any cat I come across, trying out rare chip flavors, or journaling."
