Kalamata International Airport (KLX) offers frequent connections to Greek and international destinations. The city centre can be reached in approximately 15 minutes by taxi.

🚌 From Athens
Kalamata is connected to Athens by frequent KTEL bus services:
• EXPRESS: approximately 2 h 45 min
• NORMAL: approximately 3 h 15 min

Buses depart from the Kifisos KTEL Bus Station in Athens.

✈️ Arriving at Athens International Airport?
Take the X93 express bus to the Kifisos KTEL Bus Station. Services operate every 30–40 minutes and the journey takes approximately 60 minutes.

🎉 Great News!
The 𝗦𝘁𝘂𝗱𝗲𝗻𝘁 𝗔𝘄𝗮𝗿𝗱 “𝗡𝗶𝗸𝗼𝘀 𝗭𝗮𝗰𝗵𝗮𝗿𝗶𝗮𝘀” now includes a travel grant in addition to waived registration fees for postgraduate or PhD students in Archaeological Sciences.

Thanks to the generous sponsorship of the Society for Archaeological Sciences (SAS), the award recipient will receive:
👉 A travel grant of $200 (approximately €172) to support attendance at the 9th ARCH_RNT Symposium
👉 Complimentary SAS membership for the remainder of 2026 and throughout 2027

Professor Nikos Zacharias organised the 1st ARCH_RNT Symposium in 2008 and served as Chair of the Organising Committee until his passing in 2024. The 𝗦𝘁𝘂𝗱𝗲𝗻𝘁 𝗔𝘄𝗮𝗿𝗱 “𝗡𝗶𝗸𝗼𝘀 𝗭𝗮𝗰𝗵𝗮𝗿𝗶𝗮𝘀” has been established to honour his memory and his longstanding dedication to supporting young researchers.
