A cargo crane is not just equipment — it’s a critical asset for safe and efficient vessel operations.

In this project, CARELL performed hydroblasting treatment on a bulk carrier’s cargo crane structure as part of a planned maintenance and life-extension program. Constant exposure to harsh marine conditions leads to coating degradation, corrosion, and increased structural fatigue risk over time.

Ultra-high-pressure hydroblasting was selected to effectively remove old coatings and corrosion while minimizing dust, avoiding abrasive residue, and protecting sensitive components. This method is ideal for complex geometries and operational environments.

The result: a clean, properly prepared steel surface, ready for coating and aligned with high preservation standards.

This intervention enhances crane reliability, extends service life, and ensures continued compliance with Class and operational requirements.
