Proud to have powered SENTINEL to the podium!
When superyachts race, the Aegean transforms into something else entirely. The of Yacht Club Of Greece brought together some of the most extraordinary sailing machines on the water — and watching them battle it out against the raw beauty of the Greek islands is a reminder of why offshore racing at this level is in a class of its own.
We are immensely proud that SENTINEL carried Banks Sails Greece sails to 2nd place on the podium in the Skyphians class — a highly competitive fleet where every decision, every manoeuvre, and every trim adjustment counts. Special congratulations to Simos Kampouridis Simos Kambouridis , Helm of SENTINEL, and to Akis Tsarouhis Akis Tsarouchis for the fine trimming.
The Skyphians class this year was a spectacular showcase of what performance superyachts can do. Taking the top step, Aiolos — a formidable Volvo70 — demonstrated the raw pace that has made this class of offshore racer legendary. A worthy champion. Claiming 3rd place, the elegant Swan 90 Cool Turabi of Doukas Palaiologos, helmed by Theodore Tsoulfas.
And in the middle of this extraordinary fleet, SENTINEL held her own — pushing against machines built for the ocean's most demanding races, in waters the Aegean does not give away easily.
For us at Banks Sails Greece, this is what it's all about. Designing and building sails that perform at the highest level, on any stage up to the biggest, for crews who demand nothing less than excellence, race after race.
