History Made: Guyanese Toyota Verossa Runs 8.958 Seconds
Guyanese driver and businessman Sahadeo Ramsewack has made history with his Toyota Verossa, recording an impressive 8.958-second quarter-mile at 144.4 MPH in Trinidad and Tobago. The run places the car among the fastest Toyota Verossas ever built and highlights Guyana's growing presence in Caribbean drag racing.
What makes the achievement even more remarkable is that the Verossa remains a street-driven vehicle in Guyana, retaining its full interior while delivering elite drag racing performance.
The success is the result of a dedicated team effort involving Balram Auto Mechanic, Trinidad-based Team Allout, and TECHPOINT, whose tuning expertise has helped produce one of the Caribbean's most competitive Toyota racing programs.
The Trans Racing Team also fields an 8-second Toyota Altezza driven by Rohan and an 11-second Toyota RunX driven by Prankraj. Over the past six months, the team has competed across the Caribbean, proudly representing Guyana and showcasing the performance of Toyota-powered race cars.
With their next event set for Grenada this September, the team continues to raise the standard for Caribbean drag racing while flying the Golden Arrowhead high on the regional stage.
