POLICY: Coronavirus (COVID-19) - Infectious Disease Control
Policy Brief & Purpose
This Company Policy includes the measures we are actively taking to mitigate the spread of Caronavirus. You are kindly requested to follow all these rules diligently, to sustain a healthy and safe workplace in this unique environment. It’s important that we all respond responsibly and transparently to these health precautions
This coronavirus (COVID-19) Company Policy is susceptible to changes with the introduction of additional governmental guidelines.
Operating Procedure
• All employees, contractors and visitors are required to wear masks on entry into the Company’s Premises.
• All employees and contractors are required to wear masks while at work at all times.
• Department Heads and Supervisory Staff are required to manage employees’ lunch breaks and work assignments to avoid congestion at any given locations.
• Department Heads and the Supervisory Staff are required to stringently monitor employees’ exits from the Plant and Mines after reporting for duties.
• All employees, contractors and visitors shall be subjected to temperature checks, before being allowed to access the Company’s Premises. Additionally, random Temperatures Checks shall be strategically conducted.
• Any person found to have temperature reading of outside of the acceptable normal range of 100 degrees F or 37.5 degrees C shall not be allowed to enter the Company’s Premises.
• Any person (employee, contractor or visitor) who fails or refuse to have their temperature check shall not be allowed to enter the Company’s Premises.
• All Temperature Checks shall be done by Health & Safety Personnel
• The designated Temperature Check Points are:
o The North Gate
o The South East Entrance to the Mines
o The Ituni Crossing (Coomacka employees only)
• Exits shall be restricted, and shall only be granted in the cases of emergencies or work related.
• Employees, who are allowed to exit the Company’s Premises, shall be subjected to Temperature Checks upon re-entering.
• Access would be restricted to the visitors’ room at North Gate.
• The Camp Services in collaboration with the Health & Safety Department shall be responsible for the sanitation of the Company’s Premises.
• If you have cold symptoms, such as cough/sneezing/fever, or feel poorly, request sick leave.
• If you have a positive COVID-19 diagnosis, you can return to the work only after you’ve fully recovered, with a doctor’s note confirming your recovery.
• If you have recently returned from areas with a high number of COVID-19 cases (based on the Ministry of Public Health Announcements), you are asked to stay at home for 14 calendar days, and return to the work only if you are fully asymptomatic. You will also be asked not to come into physical contact with any colleagues during this time.
• If you have been in close contact with someone infected by COVID-19, with high chances of being infected yourself. You will also be asked not to come into physical contact with any colleagues during this time.
All are encouraged to remind and to report any person(s) who are in violation of this policy.
Employees in violation of this policy shall be subjected to disciplinary action.
