GenoFlow™ HPV Array 100% Proficient in latest QCMD EQA Programme (November 2022)

The QCMD (Quality Control for Molecular Diagnostics, www.qcmd.org) is an independent International External Quality Assessment (EQA) / Proficiency Testing (PT) organisation. QCMD provides a wide-ranging quality assessment service primarily focused on molecular infectious diseases to over 2000 participants in over 100 countries. Their Human Papillomavirus (PreservCyt) EQA Programme assesses the proficiency of laboratories in the detection of different high risk HPV types within a PreservCyt® matrix.

In the latest November 2022 programme, laboratory using DiagCor’s GenoFlow™ HPV Array, together with DiagPuro™ Nucleic Acid Extraction System and DiagPuro™ Viral DNA/RNA Extraction Reagent has participated and attained fully proficient (100% proficient) status. In addition to the HPV subtypes covered by the proficiency programme, GenoFlow™ HPV Array Test Kit can genotype a total of 33 high- and low-risk HPV subtypes. DiagCor Life Science prioritizes high product quality and actively supports HPV genotyping services in laboratories worldwide.

New study uses GenoFlow™ HPV Array Test Kit to highlight the importance of HPV disease awareness and testing in men, with implications for male HPV vaccination and prevention of a**l cancer

A new collaborative study between researchers in the UK, Australia, Canada, Hong Kong and Vietnam describes a**l HPV prevalence among certain groups of higher-risk Vietnamese men. Among men who have s*x with men (‘MSM’), it was found that one in four had at least one high-risk HPV genotype; persistent infection with high-risk a**l HPV genotypes is a real risk for a**l cancer. The genotyping capabilities of our GenoFlow™ HPV Array Test Kit identified HPV52, HPV39, and HPV66/68 as the most prevalent high-risk subtypes among the study participants. Men in general are often overlooked when considering HPV testing and infection, and the authors highlight that MSM in particular are at higher risk of HPV-related disease compared to other men. Continued medical education is needed globally to highlight the importance and benefits of the GenoFlow™ HPV Array Test Kit for HPV genotyping in both women and men.

Hong Kong registered clinical diagnostic laboratory, using DiagCor Life Science’s COVID-19 testing IVD products, received 100% concordance results in the latest HKSAR Department of Health QAP (December 2021 Program)

A Hong Kong registered clinical diagnostic laboratory has used DiagCor Life Science’s COVID-19 Testing IVD products to participate in the HKSAR Department of Health’s December 2021 SARS-CoV-2 Quality Assurance Program, achieving 100% concordance results. The laboratory used DiagCor Life Science’s DiagPuro™ Nucleic Acid Extraction System, DiagPuro™ Viral DNA/RNA Extraction Reagent and GenoScreen™ SARS-CoV-2 RT-qPCR Assay. The samples included in this SARS-CoV-2 QAP were prepared by Public Health Laboratory Services Branch, Centre for Health Protection, Department of Health, HKSAR Government. They are frozen transport medium samples with or without inactivated SARS-CoV-2 (whole virus).

GenoScreen™ SARS-CoV-2 RT-qPCR Assay remains highly accurate in testing the Omicron variant

The newest variant of concern Omicron (B.1.1.529) contains over 30 reported mutations in the S gene, with implications for receptor binding and transmissibility as well as antibody escape and immune evasion. It is therefore important to show that the diagnostic accuracy of SARS-CoV-2 assays is not affected. After detailed in silico a**lysis of the available sequences in variant databases such as GISAID (as at 10/12/2021), DiagCor Life Science is happy to report that none of the mutations associated with the Omicron variant affects our GenoScreen™ SARS-CoV-2 RT-qPCR Assay. Clinical laboratories using this assay can proceed with confidence for their testing operations.

The platform provides an efficient, automated and high quality nucleic acid purification solution for a wide range of specimen types, for downstream genetic a**lysis and molecular diagnostics. It is useful for MDx service labs, healthcare institutions and research labs around the world.

GenoScreen™ SARS-CoV-2 RT-qPCR Assay again 100% Proficient in latest QCMD EQA Programme (October 2021)

The QCMD (Quality Control for Molecular Diagnostic) is an external quality assurance programme that helps to monitor and improve quality within clinical laboratories. Their SARS-CoV-2 EQA programme assesses the sensitivity of assays routinely used for molecular detection of SARS-CoV-2 at clinically appropriate levels, near the limit of detection as well as the specificity of assays in the presence of other human coronaviruses.

In the latest October 2021 programme, laboratory using DiagCor’s GenoScreen™ SARS-CoV-2 qRT-PCR Assay, together with DiagPuro™ Nucleic Acid Extraction System and Genesis 96Q Real-time PCR System) has participated and attained fully proficient (100% proficient) status.
