🚀 IISE-HK Industrial and Systems Engineering Management Innovation Project Competition 2026 is now open!

The Institute of Industrial & Systems Engineers (Hong Kong) is pleased to launch the Industrial and Systems Engineering Management Innovation Project Competition 2026, aiming to encourage final-year undergraduate students to develop innovative, intelligent, and practical solutions for industrial and systems engineering management.

Final-year undergraduate students are warmly invited to participate, and each department may nominate up to two student projects.

Projects or theses will be appraised by a judging panel formed by learned academics from IISE-HK and UGC-funded universities.

📌 Submission Deadline: 8 June 2026
🏆 Award Presentation: 10 July 2026 (Tentative)

Hong Kong is at a pivotal moment in AI development. Artificial intelligence is no longer a distant concept — it is already reshaping the way we work, collaborate, and innovate. While much attention is given to its future possibilities, the real challenge lies in practical adoption.

IISE(HK) was pleased to participate in the visit to the Hong Kong International Airport (HKIA) Innovation Lab on 10 April 2026.

The visit provided a valuable opportunity to learn more about how innovation, digital technologies, and operational excellence are being applied in one of the world’s leading airport environments.

We were honoured to have Prof. George Ho, Vice President of IISE-HK, join the visit, alongside Leo, a final-year student in Industrial and Systems Engineering at The Hong Kong Polytechnic University (PolyU). Their presence highlighted the importance of connecting academia, students, and industry through meaningful professional engagement.

The programme included:
- A corporate presentation by HKIA
- A showcase visit to the HKIA Innovation Lab
- A guided tour of the HKIA Community Building
- A terminal passenger flow session

This visit offered participants practical insights into airport operations, innovation management, and passenger flow optimisation — all highly relevant to the industrial and systems engineering profession.

We sincerely thank HKIA for hosting the visit and sharing their experience with us. We also thank all attendees for making the session engaging and impactful.
