The 43rd Annual Symposium of the HKIE Electrical DivisionNew Quality Production Forces in Electrical Engineering
We are glad to announce that the 43rd Annual Symposium as a flagship event of the Electrical Division of the Hong Kong Institution of Engineers on 23 October 2025 at the Sheraton Hotel was successfully held. This event has always been more than a tradition for us—it’s a chance to come together, share knowledge, and inspire each other within the engineering community.
With the theme “New Quality Production Forces in Electrical Engineering”, we tried our best to reflect the changes happening in our industry. The event was graced by notable speakers, including HKIE President Ir Alice Chow, who delivered the Opening Address; Dr. Lawrence Cheung, CTO of the Hong Kong Productivity Council (HKPC), who presented the keynote speech; and Ir Dr. Wilton W.T. Fok, Associate Dean (Student Enrichment) at the University of Hong Kong, who gave the Closing Address.
The program included four sessions covering topics such as Power Systems and Smart Grids, Renewable Energy and Zero Carbon Initiatives, Artificial Intelligence, and Smart Technologies. We learned a lot from the ten technical papers presented and from the discussions that followed.
We sincerely appreciate everyone who attended and contributed to making the Symposium a meaningful experience. Thank you for your participation and support as we continue working together toward progress in electrical engineering.
