is an important art and cultural facility situated in the , Hong Kong. Based around a contemporary interpretation of classic Chinese visual and spatial aesthetics, the museum design builds on a concept of linked courtyards translated into a vertical series of atriums that draw the visitor upwards.
Located adjacent to the Art Park and facing Victoria Harbour, the system consists of 4,022 unique double curved aluminium panels with thousands of structural steel supports at the back. This exceptional complex system shapes the personality of the main reinforced concrete structure. Thus, the Hong Kong Palace Museum will provide a distinctive cultural bookend to the District at its western end.
This seminar will introduce practical solutions to challenges encountered during the design and construction stages of the project. It also provides an opportunity to explore the latest technologies for projects with complex profiles and understand the perspective to approach problems in next projects.
