The HKIE Student Chapters are set up to encourage and foster a spirit of friendly collaboration amongst its members and to encourage its members to maintain a close link with the Institution and to participate in the HKIE activities. The HKIE Student Chapters are hosting the Engineer’s night 2022, a prominent, annual event that gathers professional engineers and young industry leaders from all walks of life, providing everyone with a precious opportunity to socialize, exchange knowledge, and even make connections that might land you a top-notch engineering experience! With your active participation and support, the HKIESC-CityU Session 2021/22 would like to thank you for all of your support during the pandemic! ☺️🙏🙏 We have accomplished a wide variety of activities for our valued members and CityU engineering students at a difficult time, for instance, online courses, technical visits, joint student chapters events and talks. 👷🏻‍♂️👷🏻Under the pandemic, we endeavour to adapt new changes and hope to provide you with traffic learning opportunities. Do you want to enrich your school life? Let's come and join HKIE as a student member!
The Hong Kong Institution of Engineers Student Chapter - City University of Hong Kong (HKIE Student Chapter - CityU) is recruiting committee members for the upcoming 2022/2023 session and we would like to invite you to join.
By joining the HKIESC, you will approach different engineering major colleagues and coordinate with joint school Student Chapters to organize meaningful programs and events. By participating in a wide variety of activities, you can improve your communication skills and consolidate your soft skills. Please join the HKIE Student Chapter and it must be a fruitful and wonderful academic year.
The committee members will be responsible to promote Student Chapter and organize the following events:
• Student Membership Recruitment Promotion
• Technical/ Career Talks / Seminars
• Site Visits / Enterprise Visits
• Joint Student Chapters events such as ‘Engineers' Night’/ ‘Competition’/ Overseas Delegation
• Social activities
• Any activities that can achieve our mission
We are looking for candidates who are:
• A good team player
• Able to work independently
• Good at interpersonal and communication skills
• Responsible and punctual
• Passionate in serving our engineering schoolmates
There will be two rounds of interviews and the dates are shown below.

Have you ever pondered the question, "Is tap water in Hong Kong potable? 🤔" When you are curiously awaiting the answer, why don't you come and join our co-organised technical visit to the facilities of Drainage Services Department (DSD) 👀. You will have a precious chance to visit the Yuen Long Bypass Floodway, and get a closer look on the advanced treatment facilities such as grit chamber, aeration tank and sludge thickener. It is definitely a great time for you to better visualise the abstract concepts learnt in courses and understand deeper on the engineering knowledge of water treatment🚰.

There is an opportunity that comes once in a blue moon to learn more in different industries. On behalf of the Hong Kong Institution of Engineers (HKIE) Student Chapter – City University of Hong Kong, we will introduce you to the “CLP Mentoring program for Female Engineering students 2022” The mentorship program aims to provide opportunities for female engineering students from major universities in Hong Kong to gain insight into the energy industry and prepare for their career in the Engineering field. 🏗🛠

CLP has been supporting gender diversity within the company and hosting the mentorship program in the past few years. There will be a series of workshops and visits to build your soft skills and gain experiences. For further details, please refer to the poster attached.

The Hong Kong Institution of Engineers (HKIE) will organize a joint student chapter competition for all engineering students. This year, the theme of the competition is “Zero Carbon City”. Are you prepared for the challenge?
