On 19 May 2026, we were pleased to host the 7th COI Flagship Symposium, “Clinical Immuno-Oncology, Innovative Therapeutics, and Beyond.”
Bringing together leading scientists, clinicians, and global partners, with distinguished participation from international institutions including University Health Network (UHN) and Technical University of Munich (TUM). The symposium fostered rich exchange on the latest advances in immuno-oncology and translational research.
A key highlight was the participation of UHN’s senior leadership, Prof. Kevin Smith, Prof. Bradly Wouters, and Dr. Keith Stewart whose contributions reinforced a long-standing partnership and shared commitment to advancing innovation from discovery to clinical application. We also thank our collaborators from TUM for their valuable scientific contributions, which enriched the programme and broadened international perspectives.
From immune checkpoint therapies and tumour microenvironment research to next-generation cell and gene therapies, the symposium showcased cutting-edge science and emerging therapeutic strategies shaping the future of cancer care.
We sincerely thank our Co-Directors Prof. Tak Mak and Prof. Suet-Yi Leung, Innovation and Technology Commissioner Mr. Ivan Lee, HKU Dean of Medicine Prof. Chak-Sing Lau, all distinguished speakers, collaborators, and participants, as well as Beckman Coulter for their support, in contributing to the success of this meaningful event.
We look forward to continued collaboration as we drive translational innovation and work towards improving outcomes for cancer patients worldwide.
