🌊 潛入深藍秘境：「水底探險隊」正式啟航！
資助：環境及自然保育基金 主辦：香港管綫專業學會 協辦：香港社建協會
平時我哋只會睇到海面嘅波光粼粼，但你又有冇想像過水底世界其實隱藏住好多「秘密」？🤔
日前，一班小小探險員化身成「水質科學家」💧，而係透過科技與實踐，親身揭開香港水資源嘅神秘面紗。
當日同學親手操作水底遙控潛水艇 (ROV)，潛入淺層至深層區域，了解深度和水質變化嘅關係，並將海水樣本帶回岸上，從科學角度了解水質污染。透過觀察與測試，大家明白到乾淨嘅水源唔單止係為咗人類，更加係維繫海洋生態平衡嘅關鍵🌊。

🤝 Strengthening Technical Ties! 🤝

HKIUS hosted a technical exchange meeting today, with the team from RE·FINE Technology (Shanghai).

Our discussions focused on key industry advancements, including:
· Mainstream pipeline inspection and trenchless repair technologies in Hong Kong
· Market scale and development opportunities for drainage pipe maintenance
· Leveraging Hong Kong’s strategic role as a bridge for the industry to enter the Southeast Asian market

It was a productive hour of sharing expertise between our teams as we look toward future collaboration in the utility sector.

HKIUS x EMSD: Shaping the Future of Utility Safety! ⚡

Today, the Hong Kong Institute of Utility Specialists (HKIUS) and the Electrical and Mechanical Services Department (EMSD) came together for a joint discussion regarding the review of the "Code of Practice on Working near Electricity Supply Lines 2018".

The review aims to enhance industry standards to minimise third-party damage to Electricity Supply Lines.

During the meeting, Ir Dr. King WONG shared crucial insights on behalf of the industry and exchanged views with EMSD on the potential initiatives. 💡

HKIUS will continue to work closely with the EMSD and industry stakeholders to ensure that safety guidelines are both technologically advanced and practically viable.

We were honored to host a distinguished delegation from Singapore on 4 February 2026 for an insightful technical exchange session.

It was a privilege to welcome senior officials and engineers from Singapore’s key infrastructure bodies—including URA, SLA, EMA, LTA, IMDA, and Netlink Trust. The afternoon was dedicated to sharing knowledge on Underground Utility Surveying and Mapping, comparing practices between our two cities.

Highlights of the day included:
✅ Technical Visit: A demonstration of our latest survey equipment and tools.
✅ Seminar: Deep dives into end-to-end workflows (GPR vs. EM) and the critical shift toward data digitalisation (BIM/GIS integration).
✅ Dialogue: Valuable discussions on professional standards and data governance.

A big thank you to all the delegates for their visit and to our members who participated. Exchanges like these are vital for advancing the standards of utility specialization in the region.
