Important update for our clients in the United States 📦 🇺🇸 (please help share this good news so your USA friends know about it too!)

DHL has informed us about a refund process connected to certain IEEPA import duties previously charged on shipments entering the United States.

Following a U.S. court decision, some IEEPA-based tariffs were ruled unlawful, and U.S. Customs and Border Protection introduced a refund procedure for qualifying shipments.

For some Sailboat RC customers, this may apply if you imported a Sailboat RC shipment into the United States during the affected period and were also charged an IEEPA duty by U.S. Customs/DHL.

What this means for U.S. customers:

• The refund applies only to qualifying IEEPA duties. It does not include regular customs duties, DHL service fees, brokerage fees, or other import-related charges.

• If DHL was the Importer of Record, DHL may submit the refund request automatically.

• If you were listed as the Importer of Record, you may need to contact DHL or your customs broker to check whether your shipment qualifies.

• Processing may take time. CBP indicates many valid refunds may be processed within 60–90 days after acceptance, while DHL notes that some cases may take up to 180 days.

Sailboat RC did not collect these U.S. import duties directly. They were charged and processed through the U.S. import/customs system.

If you imported a Sailboat RC product into the United States and believe you may have paid an IEEPA duty, please check your DHL import documentation, duty invoice, waybill, and customs payment records.

We will continue to monitor the situation and share relevant updates when available.

IOM Worlds 2026 final results!

The IOM World Championship has come to an end — and what an event it has been.

First, huge congratulations to Alexis Carre, a truly worthy World Champion after a superb week of racing. Fast when it mattered, composed when it counted, and consistent enough to write his name at the very top. Following with medals, our co-founder Zvonko was blessed with yet another award at the highest ranking snatching silver medal and ensuring consistency through decades of sailing. Third place was awarded to Rob Walsh who took medal for whole GBR as home-organizers making everyone proud indeed.

For the whole IOM community, this victory carried a special emotion too. Seeing Ian’s design win at this level felt like one of those rare moments when a result becomes bigger than the scoreboard. Somewhere between the start line, the shifts, the pressure, and the final race, the world had a reason to smile.
Looking at Sailboat RC strictly, this championship was also another very proud moment. Scanning through the fleet and seeing many sailors racing with VISS, K2, and our sails, rigs, or parts as the motor of their sailboats, we are genuinely impressed, grateful, and happy to be part of so many strong performances, especially after so many years now.

Success at this level always belongs first to the sailors — but when our work helps them push harder, sail faster, and fight at the front, it means everything to us too. As three VISS and one K2 were in Top 10, we are simply grateful through the roof.

Congratulations to every sailor, every supporter, and the whole organizing team.
A wonderful event has ended — but the wake it leaves behind will stay with us for a long time.

After all the preparation, measuring and behind the scenes organisation, it was go time at Datchet. The breeze built, the clouds parted, the qualifying heat allocations were made and the skippers launched for this vital stage.

While the first day of the IOM World Championship in Datchet (GBR) is underway, and while we are all excited and keep refreshing for results, videos, rumors, wind reports, tactical theories and emotional damage… it feels like the perfect moment to look back at another beautiful IOM chapter from this season.

Portuguese IOM sailor Paulo Maio Gomes has just released his aftermovie from IOM Rogoznica 2026 — and it is more than just a video. It is a reminder of why this class is so special.

The boats, the people, the travel, the energy, the friendships, the wind, the waiting, the racing, the small details, the big emotions — all packed into one story from a venue that gave us a truly memorable regatta.

Big respect to Paulo for taking the time and effort to capture it, edit it, and share the passion of IOM sailing with the wider community through YouTube. This is exactly how our sport/technical culture grows: not only through results, but through people who care enough to tell the story.

So while Datchet begins writing the next chapter, let’s enjoy one more look back at Rogoznica.

- The man studying tactics, trim, wind shifts, pressure lines and Datchet Water like a military operation.

- The man who did that already and is now calmly analysing burger structure, fry distribution and beer recovery strategy.

With the IOM World Championship in Datchet, GBR now underway, preparation has officially reached its final form!

Because at this level, your opponent is not only the fleet.
It is not only the wind.
It is not only the shifts, the starts, the boat speed or the setup.

Your next opponent is… you.

And sometimes, you gotta listen to your body to win the first race.

It took us a little extra time to wrap this up, but here are the promised two additional lottery awards from Rogoznica!

Since Zvonko Jelačić won the silver medal and Marko Matić won the bronze medal, both of them kindly decided to pass their awards on to two new lucky winners through a random lottery draw. They may not have crossed the finish line in silver or bronze position, but they definitely crossed paths with Lady Luck at full speed!

Congratulations to the winners, awards are already on their way...

Rogoznica's Cup: keeps on giving even after the sailboats are packed, sails dry and everyone thought the finish line was way behind us, ha! ;)
