The history of the STM32 microcontroller family

The STM32 microcontroller family was launched in 2007 with the STM32F1 series, which was based on the ARM Cortex-M3 core. Even the first model stood out with its performance, low power consumption, and advanced peripherals. Later, ST developed the family in different directions: inexpensive, industrial, and low-power versions also appeared, covering a wide range of the market.

The STM32F4 series broke new ground in 2011 with the Cortex-M4 core and floating-point unit. The L and H series focused on energy efficiency and high performance, respectively. Newer types, such as the G, U, WB, and WL series, opened up the world of IoT, security, and wireless communication. The STM32MP1 already runs Linux, forming a bridge between the worlds of MCUs and MPUs. Today, STM32 is one of the widest and most versatile microcontroller platforms, from hobby electronics to industrial systems.

Crystal Clear Electronics Summer Camp 2025

Two weeks ago, the CCE summer camp came to an end, where students completed exciting project tasks.

In the beginner group, building on the CCE2 curriculum and videos, students were able to create various simpler games, such as the "Pong"-inspired programs shown in the video below, but we also saw some unique applications, such as a slot machine or a shooting gallery.
The advanced group was creating a navigation device, which we implemented using a unique circuit. Before the summer camp, the students attended the Crystal Clear Electronics extracurricular activities weekly, where they acquired the basic knowledge necessary to program the unique circuit, containing a GPS and IMU unit.

We have translated the CCE videos into five additional languages with the help of AI

At our multiplier events throughout Europe, we encountered two phenomena: teachers prefer teaching materials that are available in their native language, and with the spread of AI, they are eager to take advantage of its benefits. We decided to use AI to translate our video materials into additional languages: German, Italian, Spanish, French, and Japanese.

Fortunately, even AI is not perfect. 😊

Due to possible bugs and technical inaccuracies, we still recommend our English and Hungarian videos to those who are interested. We hope that this small innovation will be useful to many of you!
