ASCOPE Mid-Year Task Force Meeting held in Bali: A Step Forward for Regional Energy Cooperation
The 8th Mid-Year Task Force Meeting, held recently in the picturesque city of Bali, Indonesia, was a significant milestone for regional energy cooperation in Southeast Asia. This gathering brought together leading experts and policymakers from the oil and gas sector across ASEAN member countries, aiming to enhance energy connectivity and resilience in the region.
The meeting focused on several crucial topics, including the expansion of the ASEAN Plan of Action for Energy Cooperation (APAEC) post-2025 framework. The discussions emphasized the importance of advancing the Trans-ASEAN Gas Pipeline (TAGP) connectivity and promoting the use of natural gas and LNG as cleaner alternatives to coal and oil. This initiative aligns with the ASEAN Community Vision 2045, targeting a sustainable and resilient energy future.
