Located at Pangalengan highlands, Situ Cileunca is one of the dutch-made water reservoir in West Java. Built to supply water and generating electricity for Bandung, the 104-year old reservoar still operating normally until today.
PLTMH Cileunca (2 x 0.5MW) build to utilize the water flow that comes out of the Situ Cileunca spillway/morning glory. Previously, the water that came out was only used to generate 3 power plant located below Pangalengan (PLTA Plengan, PLTA Lamajan, PLTA Cikalong).
RCE Engineering asked to built an interface system for connecting the old spillway pipe to the powerplant massive GRP pipe without damaging the old structure but can withstand the exteme and harsh condition.
It was an challenging to work with extremely tight space, loud sound, high humidity environment and unpredictable weather. We had to precisely calculate and measure everything from A to Z.
And finally, after the interface system was perfectly fitted inside the Morning Glory/Spillway, PLTMH Cileunca 2x0.5MW can be operated for supply electricity.
