Passion in automotive and rapid development of electric car become the main motivation for us to participate in Shell Eco Marathon Asia 2014. Our team consists of students from various major, such as: Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Aeronautics Engineering, Industrial Engineering, and Product Design, who are enthusiastic about automotive and look forward to utilize their engineerin
g and design skills to build an automobile. Our automotive enthusiast team see that electric car technology is being developed vigorously nowadays. So, we decide to indulge our passion in automotive and participate in development of new alternative vehicle at same time by participating in Shell Eco Marathon. Moreover we're looking forward to break our previous record in Shell Eco Marathon 2012, that made it up to 74.9 km/kwh and won the 2nd prize in Urban Concept Electric Vehicle, as well as to win this year. We hope, as the world population that cares about the environment, we can become more aware of the fact that we need new innovations in order to preserve the life of this world, especially in the automotive world. Our participation in this competition will increase the competitive spirit to be the best compared to the others. Throughout the lesson we get from the lecture can be applied in the process of making this car and will certainly enhance our ability. Spirit, teamwork, organizational skills, and communication skills can make us ready to face the future. Definitely we have some application in our car that could be new innovation for Shell Eco Marathon Asia 2014 like using In-Wheel Brushless DC motor and programmable controller that decrease losses in propulsion system, lighter new chassis and steering design that decrease the weight of the car and make energy consumption become more efficient but still maintain power of the framework to protect the driver, and new intelligent speed assistance that inform the driver to maintain the pressure of the throttle pedal for eco-efficient-driving.
