PT Gemintang Prima Mineral proudly participated in the 17th MGEI Annual Convention, held in Surabaya on 25–26 November 2025, as sponsor and speaker. On Day 1, our Principal Geologist, , presented “What We Could Explore More in the Eastern Sunda Arc: Medial Belt of Eastern Java (?)”, contributing to discussions on Indonesia’s future mineral exploration potential.

The presentation highlighted the Eastern Sunda Arc as a highly prospective yet underexplored belt for gold and base metals. While most known deposits are linked to the Oligo–Miocene magmatic arc, significant opportunities remain in less explored areas such as southern East Java and younger magmatic systems, including the Medial Belt of Eastern Java (Lawu–Wilis).

Key insights emphasized the importance of tectonic and regional geological assessments—understanding Tertiary basement characteristics, surrounding rock fertility, and the influence of Quaternary volcanism—alongside addressing technical challenges beneath volcanic cover and non-technical factors such as permitting and social considerations.

Through active engagement in professional forums, PT Gemintang Prima Mineral remains committed to advancing geological knowledge and responsible exploration practices in Indonesia.

This method has played a critical role in numerous mineral discoveries, ranging from national-scale deposits to some of the world’s most significant finds.

By tracing mineral grains carried through river systems, stream sediment surveys provide an efficient and cost-effective way to detect anomalies across vast areas. Many discoveries that shaped the mining industry began with these simple but powerful surveys.
