Ever wondered what’s happening to your jewelry inside the plating bath?

Different solutions react differently during plating. In our rhodium plating process, you’ll notice bubbles continuously appearing across the surface, while the silver plating bath is rather dark and makes the piece hard to see, giving it a visually calmer appearance in comparison.

Electroplating baths contain gold, silver, rhodium, or whatever material they are set up to plate. Using electrical current, that material is deposited onto the surface of the piece placed in the bath. By controlling voltage and time, we can control how thick the deposit becomes on a piece of jewelry, more time means more gold and, of course, higher cost!!

Looking for a specific plating color for your piece? Let’s see if we can create it.

Each piece is hand-carved from a solid block of wax. Little by little, shape and form reveal themselves. Continuously refined until the master model aligns with our client’s vision.

From that point, the process continues through casting and detailing of the master, creating the mold, then injection and casting the production pieces in the chosen metal—silver, gold, or whatever that may be. It’s then detailed and adorned with stones, finely finished, engraved, and marked to the client’s desire.

Watching the entire process unfold, from a fresh block of wax to the final shimmer and sparkle… bejeweled.

Today’s custom piece starts with a small organic flower, hand-carved by our master carver based on our client’s vision. From this first piece, each detail is preserved in a rubber mold and repeated through wax, allowing every petal to stay consistent in shape and proportion.

One by one, the flowers are assembled into place, forming the final diamond shape. Each flower is then set with a 2 mm stone.

The final result? A beautiful pair of diamond-shaped earrings, built from a total of 50 small flowers, is yours.

With a different energy from the hectic, noisy bench of our silver and gold smiths, our master wax carvers bench feels calmer and meditative, even though the work is every bit as demanding.

It starts with small, thin controlled strokes sketching out the over all design and then moves into deeper cuts and carving to create clear dimension and depth. At the end, a touch of heat smooths the surface and brings out a subtle shine. Even a heavily detailed pendant like this is created through that steady - quiet rhythm that defines hand wax carving.

Turn the sound on and you’ll get the vibe!

Covered in dust, rough skin, small cuts here and there, it’s a natural part of the process when you craft metal every day. These hands are the proof of every masterpiece that’s been created here.

And somehow, from these hands come the bright, polished, finely crafted jewelry we are proud to create, and that our clients love and cherish.

Grateful for the talented minds and hands behind all we create!

At times we are presented with free size non calibrated stones like this unique Mexican fire opal and thus must design the piece to fit the stone. In this case it’s no longer a production setup but a custom one off or a group of one offs which can be made by hand, carved from wax, or done in CAD then printed and cast specifically for the stone at hand. We chose CAD as there were a number of stones to set and we modified the first CAD design specifically to each stone, making it the most financially feasible of the methods available to us.

The CAD process allows us to carve in the computer and do a quick rough rendering to get an idea of where our result is heading. Here you can see the render compared to the final result after casting, setting and finishing.

A unique custom statement piece!

Your necklace can do THIS?

Fashion is getting more creative by the day, and jewelry styling is no exception. People are turning rings into necklaces, necklaces into bracelets — and yes, necklaces into handchains. Try these 3 ways to style your necklace as an aesthetic handchain.

However, not every chain works for this. Some are too delicate to wear on your hand and could break with movement. Always check your chains strength and length before trying it out. Our team is always playing around with ideas in the studio and happy to work on any idea you might have as well !

As Nyepi, the Saka New Year 1948, arrives in Bali, the island enters a rare moment of stillness. For 24 hours, lights dim, daily routines pause, and the streets fall into complete silence.

It is a time to slow down, turn inward, and reconnect with ourselves and our loved ones. A sacred moment to step away from the noise of the outside world and embrace calm, clarity, and renewal.

In honor of this day of silence, Flow Jewelry Studio will also take a moment to pause. We will use this time to reflect and take a breath, returning with a renewed spirit to craft many more meaningful masterpieces.

There are many misconceptions when it comes to gold fill and its application as a design element. In general, the gold must be rolled into sheet form and applied where there is a suitable substrate to attach it to—typically flat, smooth surfaces.

In the case of this ring, the flat diamond surfaces lent themselves to this clean smooth process and we accented the diamond motif with solid thin rolled 18k gold panels (aka gold fill).

While it’s not suitable for all designs and is difficult or not feasible for detailed texture motifs, in a case like this it’s perfect!

With the cost of gold as it is now, although it is not suitable for every design, we are more than happy to discuss when the piece is suitable for a gold-filled treatment! Ask us if you feel it might be suitable for your designs.

Wanna watch as we create a custom necklace with various geometric shapes you may well find familiar …

We begin by marking each shape using our cutting cutting engraver . Because the silver plate is quite thick, we didn’t cut it all the way through in one step. The machine creates a deep initial cut, allowing our smith to carefully follow the lines by hand, separating each shape with accuracy ,control and minimal force.

One by one, every elements are defined , detailed and assembled into a single flowing pendant. It’s finished with a twisted rope chain that adds subtle texture without taking attention away from the geometric spirit of this lovely peice !!

In most of our production process, we use vulcanized silicone rubber molds that set under heat and pressure using a machine called a vulcanizer . But fragile organic matter such as a leaf , a shell or a bug can also be molded for future wax injection and casting yet can’t stand the pressure of a vulcanised mold.

In these cases we choose to use a non vulcanized liquid silicone that sets at room temperature with out force or pressure .the liquid silicone is first poured into a container and then placed under vacuum to remove trapped bubbles, then poured gently into the mold to fully cover the master piece and capture its shape with precision. After pouring, we place under vacum pressure again to eliminate any remaining air pockets before the silicone cures.

This allows us to mold delicate forms safely, preserving every detail without exposing the original piece to heavy pressure or unwanted damage , while still allowing a mold to be successfully created for further production.
