APRIL Group continued to deliver progress towards its APRIL2030 sustainability commitments and targets in 2025, driving gains across climate action, renewable energy adoption, conservation investment, circular economy initiatives, and community development.
APRIL’s Sustainability Report 2025, themed “Strengthening Impact,” marks a milestone year as the company reaches the midpoint of our APRIL2030 journey. The report reflects a year of recalibration, focused on refining how we deliver our commitments to drive measurable results as the business continues to grow and diversify.
Key achievements in 2025 include:
• Reduced land-use emissions by nearly 40% to 3.0 million tonnes CO₂e since 2019 baseline at Sumatra operations, advancing the pathway toward net-zero land-use emissions by 2030.
• Increased renewable and clean energy to 82% of manufacturing energy demand, and expanded installed solar capacity to 26.3 MW, surpassing earlier targets and raising its long-term solar ambition to 50 MW by 2030.
• Invested US$14.8 million in conservation, supporting conservation and restoration landscapes equivalent to 76 percent of its plantation footprint.
• Improved plantation productivity by 13.8% at the Sumatra operations, effectively boosting fibre output without expanding its plantation footprint.
• Contributed to stunting reduction efforts among children, bringing rates to below 14% across 114 villages in Riau Province.
• Women accounted for 63% of participants in APRIL’s community programs, reflecting strong progress in diversity, equity, and inclusion initiatives.
The year also marked several important milestones for our nature and biodiversity agenda, including the launch of APRIL’s Thriving Nature strategy, a five-year scientific collaboration with the International Union for the Conservation of Nature (IUCN) to strengthen evidence-based conservation across our landscape, and the adoption of the TNFD framework to strengthen nature-related risk and opportunity reporting.
