Dear Colleagues,
On behalf of Department of Nutrition and Health, Faculty of Medicine, Universitas Gadjah Mada, we are delighted to invite you to the 7th International Symposium on Wellness, Healthy Lifestyle and Nutrition. The symposium will take place from Thursday the 3rd to Friday the 4thNovember 2016, in the cultural and historical city of Yogyakarta, Indonesia. The scientific program will include the latest discoveries in research related to wellness, healthy lifestyle and nutrition in Asia Pacific. There will be parallel programs and joint sessions to ensure that delegates are given the chance to increase their knowledge and network. There will be many opportunities to discuss and share our experiences and works with academia, health practitioners, industry and government.
To ensure healthy lives and promote wellbeing for all at all ages is one of the 17 Sustainable Development Goals that have been launched by World Health Organization. In order to achieve the goal, Asia Pacific have several issues related to health that are need to be finished including environmental health, communicable diseases, non-communicable diseases, reproductive health and health system development. To address these problems, an annual meeting was initiated to bring together key persons within regions discussing challenges and alternatives to improve health within region.
The International Symposium on Wellness, Healthy Lifestyle and Nutrition (ISWHLN) is one of the regional forums on wellness, disease prevention, healthy lifestyle, food and nutrition. The conference was started in Yogyakarta-Indonesia (2010) and has been organized in several other countries in Asia Pacific region such as Thailand and Malaysia. The ISWHLN has played an important role in the building network between scientists and health practitioners across the region to enhance health and wellbeing by a healthy lifestyle. This year, the congress will be held in Yogyakarta under the theme “Lifestyle and nutrition for a better health to achieve sustainable development goals (SDGs) in Asia Pacific”.
