Building a better future starts with investing in the next generation of talent! 🏢✨
Earlier this week, Hereworks was thrilled to host a talented cohort of students from the UCL Bartlett Faculty of the Built Environment for an immersive office-day as part of the "Building a Better Future" (BABF) Consultancy Project.
Our goal? To bridge the gap between academic theory and industry reality by challenging these students to tackle our "AI-Enabled Buildings" brief. They are diving deep into how Edge AI, Generative AI, and AI Analytics can transform sustainability, operational efficiency, and occupant experience in the modern workspace.
The day was packed with:
- 🛠️ A methods-focused workshop to sharpen their technical toolkits for real-world application.
- 🎙️ An industry panel with Hereworks experts – Aoife McLoughlin, Shane Smith, and Tom Keeling – sharing career guidance and insights into the problems we solve every day.
- 🤝 Guided working sessions, where students collaborated directly with our staff to refine their project solutions.
At Hereworks, this is an opportunity to gain fresh, "out-of-the-box" perspectives on the complex challenges of the built environment. We’re empowering these future consultants to develop sought-after skills like teamworking and technical architecture design.
We’re incredibly impressed by the multidisciplinary teamwork shown so far. We can’t wait to see the final presentations on Wednesday, June 17th, when the teams face a panel of Hereworks staff and UCL professors.
Good luck to all the consultants!
