Yesterday, we had the chance to meet some of Munster’s emerging engineering talent at the Munster Technological University Careers Fair in the MTU Arena. A big thank you to Val Small, Jack Kavanagh and Emmet Ahern for representing us and to everyone who stopped by for a chat. There was plenty of ambition in the room and some great conversations about what comes next after graduation.

Missed us? No problem.

Get in touch with our recruitment team at [email protected] to receive our careers pack and explore graduate opportunities across Cork, Galway, Dublin, the Midwest and London.

And we’re not stopping there.
📍 Next up: Technological University Dublin – Built Environment & Engineering Careers Fair 📅 13th October | Bolton Street Campus.

At EDC, we believe your first role should give you more than a job title. It should give you experience that matters, exposure to landmark projects, people who will invest in your development and the opportunity to shape where your career goes next.

From projects across Ireland and the UK to opportunities to develop your technical and professional skills, we’re building an environment where graduates can grow into the engineers they want to become.

Congratulations to Ali Tabatabaei on achieving Associate Membership of CIBSE (ACIBSE) and Incorporated Engineer (IEng) registration with the Engineering Council 👏🏼

IEng is an important professional milestone, recognising strong technical competence and practical experience in engineering and design. It also represents a significant step on the professional development pathway towards Chartered Engineer (CEng) status.

Ali is making a real impact at EDC as a Mechanical Engineer within our Operations team. Using his deep engineering knowledge and eye for detail, he has been helping to develop tools, standardise outputs and improve how we work across the business. It’s great to see his technical ability and contribution recognised through this achievement.

At EDC, we’re committed to giving our engineers the structure, project exposure and mentorship they need to progress throughout their careers. A special mention to Josh Tobin for his mentorship and guidance throughout Ali’s IEng journey, and to Gareth Murphy, our Chartership Champion who works closely with our engineers and leadership team to make professional accreditation a structured and supported process across EDC.

Thinking about taking the next step towards professional accreditation or Chartership?

Get in touch with Gareth, to receive our Chartership Route Guide and learn more about EDC’s comprehensive support system, from development planning and mentorship to project exposure, progress tracking and technical guidance.

Congratulations again, Ali 🎉A brilliant milestone and another step forward in your engineering career.

🌍 We’re proud to announce that we have achieved ISO 14001 certification! ✅

This milestone reflects our ongoing commitment to environmental responsibility and continual improvement across every part of our business.

🏢 Internally, ISO 14001 has helped us embed environmental management into our daily operations. It has strengthened how we manage environmental risks, improved resource efficiency, reduced waste, reinforced compliance, and fostered a culture where sustainability is part of everyone’s role.

🤝 Externally, our expert Energy & Sustainability team continues to support clients on their own sustainability journeys. Achieving ISO 14001 further demonstrates our commitment to leading by example and reinforces the expertise we bring to helping organisations improve environmental performance, meet compliance requirements, and build more sustainable operations.

This achievement would not have been possible without the dedication and commitment of our incredible team, who have embraced this journey every step of the way. 👏 Thanks to Marina Puljić, MBA, Carl Cappuccini, Natalie Kutashvili, Martin O’ Sullivan, Lisa O Lomasney, Michelle Kelly, Sara Steele, Val Small and all the team LRQA for their guidance with the process.

As we continue to grow, this certification strengthens our purpose and reinforces our Mission: Committed to delivering MEP & Sustainability services where we can add a positive impact to the environment and our society 🌱

Recently, we attended the topping out ceremony for The Printworks, celebrating another significant milestone in the delivery of this exciting Purpose-Built Student Accommodation (PBSA) development.

Representing EDC at the event was Ben Fenttiman, Senior Electrical Engineer, who joined the project team and partners to mark this important occasion.

EDC completed a comprehensive audit of the existing design before delivering a fully coordinated Stage 4 M&E design amendment. Alongside this, our Energy & Sustainability team carried out the project’s BREEAM assessment (targeting excellent), reviewed and enhanced the energy strategy, and produced an overheating assessment to support the planning resubmission.

Working in close collaboration with , , and , the project is progressing through strong teamwork and coordination.

Once complete, The Printworks will provide 315 student bedrooms across three buildings, including the refurbishment of a Grade II listed building, alongside a range of high-quality amenity spaces including communal workspaces, a gym, games rooms, and shared kitchen and dining facilities.

It’s always rewarding to see our engineering and sustainability expertise taking shape on site. Congratulations to everyone involved. We look forward to seeing The Printworks completed.
