Our Palfinger Ireland Ltd. PCC57.002 once again providing a solution to an otherwise expensive problem.

Lifts to roof level would normally have to of been completed from the road at the front of this building on Dublins Hill Street, a simple lift you might think. Factor in the permit costs, traffic management and reduced working hours during the week and this becomes a very expensive problem.

By using a rear lane way, we were (just!) able to get our Palfinger PCC57.002 into position at the rear of the building meaning no additional costs to our client Elliott Group.

We don't believe in "It can't be done"!

6,000kg Concrete chamber lifts in a remote setup area with 38kV overhead lines making a traditional mobile crane setup impossible, no problem to Flynn Crane Hire and our fleet of Palfinger Ireland Ltd. cranes.

There's only one thing better than a Palfinger PCC, and that's two of them! We used our Palfinger PCC115.002, Palfinger PCC57.002 Crawler unit, Palfinger PK76002 & Nooteboom Trailers OVB-48-03V Power Steered trailer to carry out these works.

Chambers were delivered to our storage facility in Blessington and transported to site on demand, using the PK76002 the chambers were loaded onto the PCC57.002 Crawler Unit and transported through rough terrain to the PCC115.002, which lifted them with ease placing them into the pre-excavated pits on site.

There were two alternatives to this;
Option 1: To switch out the 38kV power lines to allow a mobile crane lift the chambers into position. Virtually impossible.
Option 2: To build a roadway through the field and construct a crane pad to allow a mobile crane to lift the chambers into position. This would cost the client tens of thousands of euros to carry out.

From initial phone call to project completion, our highly experienced team put together a plan, issued detailed lift plans & RAMS, and carried out the works to the highest of standards on site, leaving us with a very satisfied customer.

Reaching New Heights!

Another first for Flynn Crane Hire as last week we successfully installed the full 81m Luffing Jib on the impressive Tadano Europe AC7.450-1 to assist our friends at tusker.ie carry out works on the tallest structure at irishcementltd facility at Platin Works.

This is not only a first for us here at Flynn Crane Hire, but it is also the first time since its launch in Ireland & the UK that the Tadano Europe AC7.450-1 has carried out a project on full 81m Luffing Jib!

Measurements were critical for the setup as we had to position the crane between 2 structures, ensuring ballast swing was still possible, as well as ensuring the luffing jib was able to clear the overhead gantry when being lifted from the ground, no easy task with just inches to spare.

Utilising a maximum main boom length of 44.8m, coupled with the 81m Luffing Jib, this combination gave a tip height just shy of 130m at minimum radius, reducing to 120m at our working radius of 50m making the lifts at 112m height no issue for the AC7.450-1.

A huge word of thanks to our team, from initial planning right through to rigging and ex*****on, this was a textbook lift from start to finish 👏🏻👏🏻

A recent project completed for Hegarty Demolition in Sandwith Street.

A large volume of steel trusses needed to be removed for demolition works to progress and with works adjacent to the main Dublin - Wexford Railway Line, a conventional mobile crane could not be used.

Our PCC115.002 was the natural choice for these works, being able to set the crane up below the trusses meant works were carried out below the railway line running adjacent to the site.

Detailed CAD drawings were issued showing the crane setup as well as liaising with our client and Iarnród Éireann regarding the setup prior to works taking place.
